Makes me want to pull out my A Hard Day's Night DVD. I recall the Ed Sullivan appearance so clearly. The music was not the big deal then but the communal fun. Their early music was so joyful. Whenever I felt blue, I played early Beatles -- until the assasination of John Lennon.
I wish Paul McCartney would do a massive fun hit the way he once did.
I liked the early Stones at the time but over the years I have come to see what great song writers these guys were.
Sinatra called George Harrison's- Something one of the best songs ever written-

Paul McCartney surprised over 400 students at Frank Sinatra High School of the Arts in Queens

Four hundred students in a New York City high school for the performing arts got the shock of their lives when Paul McCartney strolled into their concert hall this week and rocked out a performance to celebrate the release of his new album.
The students at Frank Sinatra High School of the Arts in Astoria, Queens, were thrilled when the music legend came on stage and sat down to play on a psychedelic colored piano Wednesday.
"They went bananas," said production manager Andre Vasquez, who was in charge of sound check. "It was a complete surprise until the end, just before they announced who was coming on stage."
Can you imagine, you'd remember that for the rest of your life.
