I don't believe in discreet slaves that lord over others.

Now at the District convention we will be getting to listen in on a few talks from the international convention and he thinks that the GB is trying to unite all of us because the end is coming soon again.
"...coming soon again."
My JW mother (new convert) has a "feeling" something big is going to happen in 2014. Our family is new to this bizarre organization. It is disturbing to see the way they treat their followers.
Welcome, JudgeJudy70. It's good to hear from another awakened one.

I meant to add, Jesus did not mention appointing a slave, some 1900 years into the future. There is no modern-day slave.
He also did not instruct us to follow or serve a slave. This whole idea is just absurd.
They have picked one parable to grant themselves power over the lives of millions of people.
I sincerely hope that they just stick with publishing bizarre rantings in their publications, and don't follow through with their threats to instruct them to act against their own human instincts.
I can't wait to celebrate 2015!

The slave parable is just a parable to motivate ones to be giving and helping towards one another until the christ returns and those that do nothing or take advantage are or will be considered the evil slave going along with what Jesus said when the one came and said we did this in your name or we did that and he says get away from me. jmo

The Governing Body has to justify it's own appointment and do so by self interpreting this parable.

No idea why snare thinks you would be disfellowshipped for not knowing the lastest new light on FADS being the governing body. They would only be kicked out if they did not accept the new teaching when they were made aware of it and then actively tried to persuade other JWs that the interpretation was wrong.
