Why did God wait so long to have a special people?

The simple fact is they did not know the Hebrew god. They were born and raised and lived in their culture. They didn't know Yahweh and then leave him. They were wiped off the land (according to the bible) and had their preteen and virgin teen daughters taken as spoils of war after their baby boys were slaughtered with no mercy, because they did not know better (according to the only true god who never told them different).

What horrible people! How shameful to do things they didn't know were wrong.

And typically these JWs are improperly projecting their modern environment and freedoms upon those who lived in the past, forgetting that we usually live in a World that is largely freed from State Gods and where people CHOOSE what religion they'll be. They're ignorantly assuming that people had the right to reject the National deity in the past.

If you lived in ancient Greece circa 500 BC, it was a death penalty offense to reject the accepted pantheon of Greek Gods, since to profess a belief in the God of another Nation meant you were a traitor of your OWN people.

So it wasn't like you had a CHOICE, anyway: it truly was that some had the misfortune of being born into the wrong clan, and wouldn't even be exposed to other ideas, since there was NOTHING you could do about it EVEN IF you knew. The Jews were told not to associate with Gentiles and foreigners, since that kind of international goodwill was BAD, and that was the whole point of later efforts to tighten up hatred of foreigners (preventing marriage to foreigners, aka xenophobia).

truthseeker May I ask why you believe - it took so long for God to have a special people, namely the nation of Israel? And when he did choose his people, it's as if God ignored every other culture and nation on Earth only to focus on Abraham, Isaac and there descendants.

Why not adopt one of the many other gods on offer? They are, on the whole, easier to apease and less demanding than the Hebrew desert god. A number of them also precede him.

I believe God chose Israelites because they were a nation

that was still living in the dark ages. Look at the laws that

    was given to them.

Leviticus 18. The nakedness of your father or mother you

shall not uncover. The nakedness of your sister, or your sister's daughter

or your son's daughter. The nakedness of your mother sister, your father

brother and etc. My God, if it was necessary to spell out every detail what in the

hell kind of life existed in that nation. He had to tell them in Leviticus 18;23 " look

you can not mate with any animals, WTH.

God figured if he can turn these people around from their strange ways, then people

will take notice, because the nation of Israel was still living in the cave man days.

For sure, they have abused this privilege, and not just by disobeying joke-hova. This tiny nation, under the guise of "God's chosen people", has caused much havoc during this period by slaughtering innocent people for minding their own business. This goes on to this day. They themselves invented Christi-SCAM-ity as a tool to enslave everyone else, under the guise of "God's Chosen". Christ itself is from Jewish lineage, going straight to Tyrant David. And even to this date, they whine and sue their way into power to dominate the world. Codes of conduct that are needlessly complex and designed to confuse are their trademark, which I noted even with what they chose to reveal to everyone else through their Old Testament.

Not to mention, trying to invoke the book of Revelation by making rules against free speech (Anti-Semite is their version of "apostasy"). In many countries, it is actually a felony (death penalty) to even question the validity of the Holocaust--the modern "flat earth". This, like the flat earth of Galileo, needs to be questioned. They continue pushing for "privilege"--in the name of God. Ultimately, as the book of Revelation reveals, they intend to enslave the whole earth, in the name of God. We even hear the terms "Gentile Times" in their own LIE-ble, indicating that there would come a time when Gentiles no longer had any rights and that God's "chosen" would once again rule, and this time globally. All this right in their own LIE-ble.

Now, if this is really joke-hova's will to have the Gentiles subdued and slavery imposed on the whole earth, then maybe it's high time for joke-hova to be pulled down from power along with all that thing has worked to install, and let us rule our damn selves in peace. We do not need Noahide Law, the Law of St Benedict (the terminus for xian rule), or Sharia Law. Rather, we need the Law of Nature. Yet, it seems joke-hova has been so thorough in enacting a system to defend its tyranny and enslave the whole human race that we never make any progress in securing the Law of Nature.

You could ask these very same questions for the 21st century about non christian nations and especially those who have had no, or little contact with modern technologies . Good post

Exactly. If belief in Jesus is so crucial, how come God did nothing to stop most people on this planet believing other religions? What's going to happen to all those billions of Muslims, Hindu's, Buddhists, Shintoists? Are they all going to be killed at Armageddon? Is God a loving heavenly father or the manslayer of billions?

It's all hopelessly absurd and contradictory nonsense.

God started with Adam and Eve... people turned away from God; by not listening to Him; by choosing to listen to others. No different than what people do today.

God even spoke to Cain... and warned Cain of the danger in the path he was walking... and Cain did not listen.

People turned away from God... God did not leave people.

In their turning away, their various histories reflect some knowledge that they took with them... as well as all the untruths and gods that they created for themselves, from the untruths (adding and taking away from the truth) Israel however was chosen to be His people and through Israel - specifically the Jews - came Christ, the Truth.

Abraham came from the East. Other nations knew of the Most High God.

Abraham, however, had faith to hear God... and obey; and God made a covenant with him and his descendants after him.

He did not ignore other cultures and nations. Nor does HE do so today; for the call is for everyone who hears. They ignore Him. Yes, often it is the parents who stop their children from going to Him, teaching their children something else. But He gives even these ones an opportunity to know Him... and/or to do good to one of the least of these who belongs to Christ, so that they too can enter the Kingdom when Christ returns.

Agree to disagree Tammy. A god that would kill a kid because thousands of years ago their ancestors left him is no good or loving god.

God doesn't kill a kid because thousands of years ago their ancestors left him.

But perhaps you are referring to the lie that much of the religion of christianity teaches... that anyone who is not a Christian (though their own words do not bode well for themselves)... dies at armageddon, or goes to hell, or at the least does not enter the Kingdom when Christ returns?

The TRUTH... is that all who belong to Christ are gathered by Him when He returns - the 144000 of Israel... and... the great crowd out of every nation, tribe, tongue. These TWO are ONE, in Christ. But in addition to these ones - who rule as kings and priests with Christ for a thousand years; there are all those who are granted entrance as subjects of that Kingdom. The sheep who asked Him, Lord when did we see you hungry and feed you, or imprisoned and visit you... and He answered, whatever you did for even the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.

From the parable of the sheep and the goats.

    Peace,

    tammy
