BTW, I thought I might mention that the new May issue of National Geographic has several good articles on food, how safe, and how altered. Thought you might be interested.

    Sincerely,

    Valis,

Animal food fed to animals was the prime cause of BSE (mad cow disease). This was a protein problem, not a bug or germ.

Plants generally thrive on waste matter, including fully decomposed flesh - that's how we push up daisies - it's all part of the natural cycle. Cows eating cows isn't, thats also why cannibals always go loopy.

As manager of a thriving health food store, I can attest to the fact that a few health-conscious JW's in my own community eat organically produced food. Bear in mind, however that they routinely consume massive quantities of manure with daft smiles upon their faces. The use of dried blood as a fertilizer... I'll have to research how widely it's used here in the US. This could be an interesting little topic to toss out there when I wait on my JW customers (the ones that will still talk to me...).

it gets to be like the talmud..

eg - you cannot use dried blood in your garden....

but, (i think we can infer) if blood is poured out on the ground, and vegetables grow in it, you can then eat that vegetable, because it was "accidental"...

so, it always is, when you become legalistic..!!!
