We had a great time, I was a vampire, but I was totally upstaged by my husband. I originally made it for myself but he has had a lot of fun with it too. He actually wore this at work and out to dinner last night. Obviously he is very secure in his manhood, lol.

LisaRose, your husband is so nice, i enjoy people who like to play! Like at the renaissance festivals, grown ups dress in costumes and try to talk Olde English, it is so much fun.

CandA, how fantastic, we had a 14 year old here who went trick or treating for the first time in her life. She had her first costume, she dressed as Hit Girl from the Kick Ass movie. We fixed up half the garage with candles and little skeletons - one was in an old guitar case like a coffin. We didn't have a lot of kids, i guess the weather was moving in and when i got up this morning it had rained quite a bit.

We forgot to get a pumpkin, though! Well next year will be even better. We love Halloween!

Confusedandalone sounds like you had a awsome evening. I have a question for you, you mentioned your daughter is 9, I'm sure she had the time of her life but did she have any quesions or guilt feelings from trick and treating, Your son being younger probably wouldn't question it but just love his new experience. I wishing you and your family many fun and great new experiences in your new life.

Meanwhile..... in the house of suavojr. My wife preached only til 6pm and told me to come home early from work and avoid the darkness of Halloween. Close all the doors, windows and shut off the outside lights so no kids come asking for candy.

Then my wife says she is not superstitious and has Jeho's protection...

    I LOVE THIS THREAD!!!

Great pumpkin, the wax vomit is priceless.

I was a born again vampire I'm gonna have to get a pic on here when I can. I had a shiny white gospel gown with a cross around my neck and then the black cape and vamp fangs.

@LisaRose: this pic is priceless!!! LOL Would be a nice outfit to do a public talk in, wouldn't it?

So nice to read all the fun everybody had... I'm about to serve the pumpkin soup... not quite sure how it tastes, haha, but the smell is good. Only thing I have to find is my witches hat... black cat (our sweet Bombay cat) is already sitting on my shoulder, her usual spot... no kidding. Will try to take some pics later on..

gma-tired2 - I had a one on one talk with my daughter and I came to find out that shew didn't understand how god could be real... I didn't encourage or discourage that thought I jsut told her to come to conclusion s on things in life by using your mind not what people say. So I asked her about Halloween. She said, "Well I don't worship Satan and Demons so why would it be bad?" Granted even when I was going to the hall I didn't force doctrine on her very much. Kids will follow your lead and think for themselves as well if given the option.

suavojr - My mother did they same thibng every year. We would turn off the lights in the house and act like no one was home... essentially lying. JDubs are such hypocrites. Its not like if you say no we dont have candy that people willl murder you.

RayPublisher - wear that to the memorial LOL

    LOL, Lisa Rose!

I'd be a bit concerned though, if you catch him wearing that outfit on other days besides Halloween, LOL!

CAA's talk with his daughter (which was a GREAT LESSON to teach her) actually reminded me that JWs are likely afraid of celebrating Halloween, since having lost the ability to distinguish between fantasy and reality, they must hate the idea of being able to turn it on and off, like the Worldlies do. In constrast, although they cannot dress up in costumes, they choose to believe in demons, ghosts, and spirits every day of the year, since for them, life is like a non-stop 24/7 marathon of the World of make-believe, just a different flavor of it, since they cannot turn it off!
