Sorry to be so negative.....

Today, and just today I've decided to go over to the dark side. Be forewarned this is an intenesely negative thread. Maybe I had a bad day. Maybe people were rude to me. Maybe I'm just suffering from male menopause. Maybe I'm just sick of trolls on this forum making themselves feel superior by insisting that anyone who decides the JW religion is not for them has an axe to grind or is mentally defective. Not mentioning anyone in particular. (Stands for pure worship)

My observation after 45 years as a born in witness is that those who convert to this religion are largely ill informed, under acheivers who are attracted to the idea that they have "special knowledge." They like to believe that they are the chosen few, while having done absolutely nothing constructive in their lives to deserve any sort of special recognition.

They salivate at the idea that soon a god of love will kill off anyone who dares to believe differently from them. They pat themselves on the back for spending hours and hours in a fruitless quest for anyone who will drink the poison philosophy they espouse. All the while, they choose the homes of the dead families that they will reside in when god vindicates their quest for superiority. They do so in the name of true christianity. How utterly vomit inducing.

The reality is that no reward awaits them. The will molder in whatever vile grave they are laid in having wasted a life in service to a publishing corporation that used fear to dominate and control them. I can think of no better end to a life lived in fear.

As for me. Tomorrow"s another day.

ctrwtf, You said your thread was negative. I didn't get that at all. You just described things as they really are. Those are just the facts.

    Hi,

I agree with Oubliette. This is not negative but the truth about the truth...reality...I have noticed most witnesses have a certain characteristic...Depressed...social misfits, down trodden, etc...oh yeah cry babies...I'm sick, I'm depressed, I suffer from migranes' (you know). They seem to be sicker than any other folks in other religions....One person said on this site that they are like children, when children whine & complain, it's to get attention...so no ctrwtf, you are not being negative, you are telling it like it is...

Don't think many that are still in, don't think what you are thinking just afraid to say it...otherwise, they have no one because they have cut off all other contact with long time friends & family & they will be alone...

Once a sister & I were talking about how the world is now & so much craziness going on, she replied, yep, & she can see why he would want to end this system...in my plant seeding way I said, yep, but more & more babies are being born daily...the more babies being born the more babies he's going to have to destroy in the end...she got quiet...

No one can say when God is sick of this world...it's his call...so everytime the witnesses predict, God pushes it further until he is ready, as long as the witnesses keep predicting, he'll keep pushing the end further & further away...Do they really think God is going to let man make the call of when the end will be....Heck NO...The witnesses are already full of themselves...

    ctrwtf:

I also don't think your thead is negative.

As an ex-JW you are fearful of telling it like it is and are overly polite and think negativity is a dirty word... [As a side point: I was accused of being "negative" when I was in the religion because I told it like it is. In the JW religion, being truthful about something is called being "negative". They want you to chant "positive" things like a robot.] "We are so blessed to be in a spiritual paradise."

You are correct about being "ill informed". That could not be helped in my case, as the internet wasn't around when I came in. I feel I was a victim of "bait and switch". They totally did not lay their cards on the table or else I would not have joined. The religion sucks, plain and simple.

I also did not like when we went door to door and some idiot would make remarks about wanting to live in such and such a house after "Armagonnageddum". I think many JWs have a covetous nature. Well, it wasn't me who told them not to get college or careers. I am glad I am not in the congregations now in this bad economy. They must be cannibalizing each other.

ctrwf: could you explain please why you single out the "Converts" to watchtowerdom for your dark side characterisations.

how are they different, you think, to the "born - ins" and

how do they leave the WT-clutches in different ways?

LHG: I heard that too, but how did they ever think that those houses would ever survive the greatest catastrophy to hit the world in all eternity as Jesus said? "ill informed" indeed.

Thanks to all for your support. I guess we all need a reality check from time to time.

To Prologos. Not to put too fine a point on it, but to me, those born in including myself do not have much choice in the matter. Go to meetings and get baptized or Mommy and Daddy will have to abandon you and you will rot for eternity while we and your siblings play with lions and eat fruit in paradise forever.

Thanks also for the opportunity to write (as I should have previously) that not all converts are self important lemmings. I also believe that there are and were people like LHG that were subject to the bait and switch. I also agree with her assesment that now, today, it should be difficult for anyone with access to the internet to be duped.

Maybe the most evil thing about the wits is the fact that ( I Believe) there are a significant percentage of active JW's that seriously have difficulty with doctrine but are afraid to do anything about it for fear of losing everyone they love.
