MAJOR DOCTRINE CHANGE IN 1/15/2014 WT ON GENERATION TEACHING

    One of the basic failings of the model is that Jesus explicitly said that "no one knows that day and hour."

    And he repeated that at Acts 1:7: He said to them: “It does not belong to YOU to get knowledge of the times or seasons which the Father has placed in his own jurisdiction;

    And so what do we see in the 1/15 WT? Article entitle, "Let Your Kingdom Come"-But When?

    I truly believe that this crazy " generation " teaching will be the WT Society's achilles heel that will come back to bite them in the a$$ with more time expiring and no " great tribulation " or " Armageddon " happening. I think Gayle's estimation of 20 % exiting the organization may be pretty close to correct if you do the total count of not only those exiting out the back door, fading or becoming inactive, but include those getting baptized new each year it may come to 20 % leaving or at least 10 to 15 % exiting each year. It would be interesting for someone to research it and try to put some figures out. The longer no " Armageddon " happens- the % of JW's leaving WILL rise- that's a fact. Even if it's a gradual rise in numbers of people leaving. They've been lied to= what other options do they have but to move on in life ? I know they could stay but hopefully some will see that's a waste of their lives in time

    Leaving:

    Good point!

    They've built the faith of millions upon the basis that they know "when" (generally, which is close enough for anyone who can't stand not knowing "when").

    For the WT to give up on the "this generation" teaching would be to risk the collapse of the particular "faith" that they've built into the R&F.

    It fits the collective personality of this GB. They want to be "special", over and above others. They have rebranded themselves the Faithful Slave. They have wrote themselves into Watchtower History with a major NWT revision. Now they want Bible prophecy to apply to them. Mixed in here would be the longing to see the long awaited Armaggedon experienced by most JW's. They looked through the Bible and found a promise that they won't have their hopes dashed, that they will be alive to see it.

    It's interesting how true that is and how the society has never quoting this scripture..... Amos 5:18 "Woe to those who are craving the day of Jehovah! What, then, will the day of Jehovah mean to you people? It will be darkness, and no light......................I have HATED, I have rejected your festivals, and I shall not enjoy the smell of your solemn ASSEMBLIES. But if you people offer up to me whole burnt offerings, even in your gift offerings (meetings, service, etc), I shall find no pleasure. Remove from me the turmoil of your songs; and the melodious sound of your stringed instruments may I not hear. (songs, meetings). And let justice roll forth just like the waters, (no more DFing, lies, cover ups, abuse), and righteousness like a constantly flowing torrent.

    Maybe if Jah wasn't so proud and admitted there was a huge error during the creation of the first human couple, Adam and Eve we wouldn't be so lost today. This generation/that generation! I mean come on God is this just one big joke to you! Ha!

    And one more thing why didn't the Flood fix mankind's problems once and for all? I think God just likes to f around with us too much.

    No matter what they say they cannot escape the fact that the scripture says the generation will not pass until ALL these things occur.  Not the start of them or the middle of the things listed in the previous scriptures, not just the tribulation but all of it. Its also worth mentioning that in another scripture Jesus said , some of you here would not taste death before I arrive again. So its all a big fat sham!

    Why would the first generation of anointed ones start with those 18 yrs of age in 1914? There were earlier/older faithful anointed ones in 1914.

    Shouldn't this first group begin then with earlier generations of anointed ones from for instance, Rutherfords generation and those prior to his? If one was a faithful anointed one, 75 years old in 1914, born in 1839, that would mean that we would presently be in the 3rd or 4th groups of overlappers, not the 2nd or 3rd. This interpretation as to the beginning of starting group of anointed who saw 1914, would blow up the present day JW explanation.

    One plus one equals four...the sky is green...Why?  Because they said so.  It's believe or be destroyed even though they have no clue what they're saying!

    It's like Abbott & Costello's Whose on First.
