@comatose you dont have to believe me as long as i know that it is not a lie. A few facebook contacts chattering are no representative view on how 8 million witnesses behave. Besides that a lot of them dont even have computers, internet and so on.
And it also makes no sense to check a site everyday if they only do some minor updates a few times a month.

However our experience is different. I , for example, have got a biblestudent and study through the website. Just a guy that applied for study. Few days later the branch office notified us. And i know i am not the only one who got a biblestudent because of the website.
besides that its my experience that people often look for more info after seeing the logo and webadress in our magazines. We also hand out JW.ORG business cards at the door but also to people that approach our mobile carts at train stations. The website is visited by hundreds of thousands of unique visitors per day
Paid results in google are in the top of the page with a slightly colored background (that you can barely see, google is a greedy pig of a company so their results often look "organic" when its actually advertisements up there).
You have to have big advertising bucks for the ad positions at the top of google. Usually these are only transactional keywords. Try "buy cell phone" or "iphone 5" and you will see the ads up top, and the right hand column.
The search term "Jehovah's witnesses" doesn't have any ads up top, so the probablility is that nobody really values that keyword that much to pay for traffic up top. There are a few on the side for me, (this stuff varies by location) for a few dating sites and a book binder.
The organic results cannot be paid for, at least that is what google says. Its all based on the current algorithm, which usually has to do with size of site, inbound links, and the actual text on the page.

The real world will never see most of that crap..

@Outlaw i heard the same mumbo jumbo when there were only 2 million JW's and probably you will repeat this nonsense year after year. it does not matter. About 6000 JW's in 1914 about 8 Million publishers and 19 million attendants now.
Whatever you think or say it does not change me thinking ....

My post is about the internet and the new WBT$ web site..There was no internet when there was only 2 million JW`s..
So you never heard the same Mumbo Jumbo way back when..You lied..
JW`s do store 95% of WBT$ literature in spare bedrooms,ect..ect..The outside world rarely sees WBT$ literature..
Todays JW`s "ARE" the most Lazy Ass JW`s I`ve seen..
Sitting by a cart waiting for people to talk to you,means your message isn`t important at all to you..

One interesting thing I noticed on Alexa for the jw.org site is that the college aducation is severely under-represented. Speaks for itself - lots of JWs visiting and JWs tend to be less well educated. Whether that's because they discourage college or because you have to be stupid to join them is open for debate - it could be both.
People who leave tend to be better educated accoring to Alexa.
