    Frenchy,

:I got a call the other night from the new P.O. Seems that 9 months after I stepped down and stopped going to the meetings they want to meet with me. My instincts, which are seldom wrong, tell me that any laying on of the hands will be with a noose and not with healing in mind.

Every person that I've spoken to in past few years that have recieved "sheparding" visits because they were inactive have been asked these 2 questions:

    1. Do you condiser yourself a Jehovah's Witness?
    and
    2. Do you believe the "society" is the faithful and discreet slave spoken about in the Bible.

No matter what they talk to you about, those 2 questions will come out during the conversation. What they will do to you from there, depends on your answers.

    Peace,
    Chagger
PS...Did you agree to meet with the P O or anyone else?

    Prisca,

I am never ever ever setting foot in a KH ever ever again!

A few years ago my JW mum came to visit, and talked me and her Ladyship into accompanying her to the memorial. Big mistake! We sat in the back row and all was boringly normal until the pappadoms, sorry, the unleavened bread, came round.

Guess what happened? The snotty nosed kid serving the grub leant over, whisked the emblems from the person alongside before she could hand them to me, and passed them to my mum sat on the other side of me. Same with the wine!

Englishlady and myself made a point of remaining sat at the back for 10 minutes after the meeting finished and spoke loudly to one another. Boy did we get glared at. My poor mum couldn`t stop apologising to us.

I`m pretty sure that paedophile Dennis Atwell was in attendance back then. Just think - I have probably been shunned by the WT`s most famous paedophile!

    Englishman.

Please accept my apology, Prisca. I didn't even answer your question!

I won't be attending the memorial. And I,like Englishman, would never step foot a kingdom hall again. I fully agree with what LDH said on the subject.

    Peace,

he he he, somebody - reminds me of when my brother in law turned up un-announced and the first words he spoke were "Do you accept that the governing body are the faithful and discreet slave".
Now, he's not the sharpest saw in the box but I would have expected even him to try and dress it up a bit, weave it into the conversation to try and trick me into answering it (which, of course, I didn't).
I can recommend downloading the elder manual - you know everything they will say before they come out with it. Excellent fun.

What an embarrassing load of crap the WTS's memorial is. They've tailored it to fit their "unique" beliefs. I haven't been to one in 7 years. I HAVE thought of going to a meeting just for the hell of it, though. I want to see the meeting from my new perspective just once.

If they were a truly 'loving brotherhood' they would resolve our doubts with sound answers, not just blindly aim to put us 'outside' so to speak.

    That's how I feel.

Yes, I know about those questions. Don't worry, they'll have to work for it. We haven't settled on a day yet that's convenient for everyone yet. I'm sure he'll drag one of the others with him. He'll do all of the talking. He's been trying to hang someone for the longest. When I was the P.O. I was able to hold him at bay but now no one will resist him and he's determined to burn someone at the stake and it really doesn't matter to him who it is. I guess the guy just likes the smell of roasting meat!
    Thanks for the advice.

    Good question Prisca!

I'll probably go unless I can get ill or something.

BTW I have raised the question before-given the significance of the Memorial if you refused to go, and don't forget those elders might just give you a reminder call, could they take the view you have DA'd yourself?
