Just wanting estimations on "how long do you think it will be before the society allows internet witnessing as another avenue of preaching". I feel it will only be a matter of time. They have to do something to counteract all the negative stuff. Ok estimations please.
How long will it be

Whether they officially allow it or not, it can still count. It would be just like "incidental" witnessing, like when you speak to a co-worker or somebody on the bus. If a publisher wants to use time on the Internet, s/he just has to report it. I don't see a problem there.

Hey thats an idea joe.
At the new Bible School for Evangelisers, they may teach them "skills" to help them preach on "other JW sites". I wonder if that will work. We have a few apologists posting here, who are firmly indoctrinated.
Good point, I don't think it will be long. They might even be given the secret task of identifying "apostates" and getting them DF'd.

I'm thinking that pro-JW apologists who rear their craven heads on this forum (and are as active as they say they are), probably count the time they spend on the forum.

I give it less than 12 months. The brothers and sisters are sick of going to try to talk to people who do not want to be talked to. They are tired of going in the field ministry on Saturday or Sunday and no one is home or answers their door.
It is interesting that there has always been this side chatter in the publications about evening witnessing. If that's really the way to do, why not then officially change the primary meetings for field service to a weekday evening? Or put the public meetings on Saturday and the door-to-door ministry on Sunday? I've never been able to understand why the schedule is stuck on Saturday when we find the least number of people home.
I do think there is basis for adjusting the ministry method from the first century method of door-to-door (which is only tangentially mentioned and it isn't clear that this was the main evangelizing method) to one that works now. If we fast forward 20 years and say for example that it is unsafe or unhealthy to step outside our homes...will we still be required to go from door-to-door just because that is what we think first-century Christians did? It seems more reasonable to stick to the primary mission of Christians: to make disciples.
Sorry for the rant. It is quite difficult for me to be patient and wait for the glacier-speed changes of the organization right now.

I have been in Southern California for the last 8 years and even though i notice that many KH parking lot are packed for their meetings, so far i have not been contacted or see many witnesses knocking on doors...just wondering how they are getting their time.
I doubt if the GB will allow internet witnessing, they are paronoid about apostates and the influence they might have on the JW.

I agree with sspo. I can't see them encouraging internet witnessing efforts. They are currently warning people to stay away from the internet. The GB does realize that people who are smart enough to use a computer and internet forums, are more likely to have capabilities of independent thought. They do not want a public, two-way conversation to happen about their beliefs.
They could be better served if they used some modern technology though... I'm wondering why they never took advantage of television broadcasting? Imagine the funds they could raise, and the numbers they could reach over the public air waves.
The communication from the society has to be ONE WAY only. They do not accept comments from JW's. Why would they accept comments from non-believers? Maybe some pop-ups and YouTube videos, with comments prohibited... only coming directly from the GB, of course.
You will be hard pressed to convince someone to become a JW, through use of the internet or a forum like this. You will lose JW's to apostate reasoning, exposing them to satan's twisted comments. You need to keep them isolated and only associating with other indoctrinated ones. Go out in cars, to empty houses, to avoid risk of exposure to the public in any way.
The work is about quantity of time. Nothing more. They don't actually want to reach anyone new. They are struggling to maintain.

Lots of room for fun there if they do. Lots of questions we could pose to them, and they would have to think about their answer, not side-step, or say "I will return when I have researched that", and then never come back. We can make them answer.
The WT are silly enough to do this I have no doubt, but it will back-fire on them in many instances.
