Welcome Pyramid God. I hope that whatever happens you're able to maintain a decent relationship with your family. Being cut off and shunned can be a difficult thing. Family helps. At the same time, hang in there and maybe you'll be able to influence them. You never know.

Welcome!
Do you have any non-JW family to connect with?

Do you have any non-JW family to connect with?
No not really. My non-JW family always gave us a wide berth, so I don't really know who they are.
ABibleStudent- Thanks for the recommendation. I'll add Hassan's books to my reading list once I finish what's already on it.
Again, thanks for the warm welcome everyone!

Welcome to the forum PG, you've made a fast stride to learn why the WTS. is so diligently corrupt, mainly that its doctrines were always bogus,
commercial viable perhaps but certainly bogus.
People today sure have it easy with the inter-net, back when I left in the early 1980's there was no inter-net, I just used some personal intuition
and bit of rational analytical intelligence.

Welcome to the forum PG glad to have you on board. You know that if their is anyone you feel like talking confidentially too , you can use the envelope next to logout . just saying......I always recommend Don Camerons "Captives Of A Concept" it helped me immensely .
It is so sad that witnesses cant see the damage this religion does to familys , breaking them up destroying them .
I wish you well on your journey of freedom from this cult .

Welcome to the forum.
Sounds like you've gotten an education. If you've not completed it, please continue. It is so liberating to be able to think for yourself and not have to guard your thoughts if they conflict with a pronouncement from the WT Society. One day you wholeheartedly believe something, then the next WT magazine says you must believe something different, and it is as if the former belief never was.....

Welcome PG - given what you have been through with your family and the elders, you sound relatively well-adjusted and willing to see what life will hold for you. You seem to have escaped the trap (so to speak) many doubters fall into of feeling the need to get everything sorted out. Life is notoriously messy and not amenable to easy answers (despite what the Watchtower asserts) and many doubting and ex-JWs expect some sort of "mini"-organization-mindedness among those who have left. You convey an acceptance of how people are. You'll find a receptive audience for your observations and will be able to roll with the differing views.

Welcome! You are my type of guys. You like research and have an interest in History.
I learned the truth about the truth about a year and a half ago. My area of expertise is in the area of Astronomy and VAT4956 as it relates to Newbabylonian chronology. Send me a PM if you are interested in the subject. Fascinating stuff. People can make up dates and events, but nobody can control the orbits of the planets, the Moon and the Sun. They support beyond any doubt the accepted year for the destruction of Jerusalem in 587/586 BCE.
