More WT Propaganda: Low Paying Jobs are OK for Family Heads. Just "Don't Miss the Meetings!"

Why is the Watchtower so afraid for anyone to miss a meeting? Time control is part of cult indoctrination, it keeps people constantly busy trying to please a never satisfied organization, so they do not stop to question anything. Really they treat people like children who need to be constantly reminded of their Watchtower assigned busy work.

They also prefer members not have a higher income, as it keeps people unhappy with their current lot in life and enslaved to their delusion of a lion petting paradise.

My JW aunt just reprimanded me a few days ago for not attending meetings and said "it is one of God's commands to attend meetings"

He did not choose the job that paid 'more benefits', could that possibly have included health care? With three children chances are he regretted that decision.

I see no one on this thread has taken Matthew 6 to heart. Typical.

Not at all. Matthew 6 rocks. In fact, I like this passage earlier in the chapter whenever some JW tries to justify shunning:

14 For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.

Unfortunately, the Watchtower writters live off on donations. They have their clothes dry cleaned by servants. They do not worry about regular bills since its taken care of by donations. They do not have children to take to school, go to walmart or JCPney for discount clothing. The GB do not have a true life experiences of having a family and the associated worries involved.

mgmelkat: My JW aunt just reprimanded me a few days ago for not attending meetings and said "it is one of God's commands to attend meetings"

Did you ask her, "Where and when did God command that?"

Then ask her what I asked SFPW in response to his sniping comments:

    • Can you explain to me how does attending meetings of JWs equate with "seeking first the kingdom"?
    • Can you do so without referencing any WT publications or quoting any of their slogans?

The WTS promotes part time and low wage jobs

and what happens is the Government will have to pick up his slack on what this family need

because this brother chooses to work free for a publishin' cult

usin' resources he really can't afford to spare on the low wages he earn for a family of five..........Typical

    .

This brother more likely wieghed spiritual Government benefits against higher income

as a way to supplement the preachin' work

I knew a few guys (lifers) who would crap their pants at the prospect of leaving Bethel. They would not know what to do and how they would have supported themselves. Most had no skills and would have been devestated if they found themselves out in the world and having to find work and shelter. Even some who had to leave, like my brother-in-law (my sister got pregnant), had a job lined up with a "brother" and sadly found out it was just talk. They ended up living in my parent's basement.
