JWD/JWN has gone thru many growing pains. When I first got here, it was a tough place to interact in. If you didn't side with the majority, you were verbally beaten up. Many of the so-called elite posters were here and as time went on, the board evolved. We always had a variety of types of personalities. Some people were pretty tolerant and others, not so much so. The site has been inconsistent at times. There could be a general olive branch offered to those not seeing eye to eye only to have any dissension within the ranks harshly dealt with in no time at all.
Simon runs this place at exclusively, his own discretion and perspective. If you tend to disagree with him, you will be dealt with. Of course, as we all say, it IS his board and he can do anything he wishes. If you don't like it, you can simply leave. It is what it is.
Basically, the place is similar to what it used to be except most of the dissenters have been quieted or have left for one reason or another.
Overall, it's still the best exjw place on the internet. Nothing is perfect and the posters here make JWN what it is, for good/and/or for bad.

JWN is all things to all people. Alot of help is here. Most things have already been researched ad nauseum. Lets face it, its alot of work and soul torchure keeping up with this mess of a religion.

I find this website to be full of genuine people who are for the most part empathetic. I think the last thing we need is to have the same mindset that we find in a JW congregation, where people supress their true thoughts in order to force uniformity.
Uniformity and conformity need not apply! Challenging ideas and open free discussion is the way minds and people evolve.

James 3:13-18
13 Who is wise and understanding among you? Let them show it by their good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom. 14 But if you harbor bitter envy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast about it or deny the truth. 15 Such “wisdom” does not come down from heaven but is earthly, unspiritual, demonic. 16 For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and every evil practice. 17 But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. 18 Peacemakers who sow in peace reap a harvest of righteousness.
It goes without saying that verses 17-18 don't apply to JWN.
