There are those that say:"Jesus had a beard". Well they did not have scissors or razors or electric shavers. If they did they would not have had beards.
They had sharp blades like any other culture with steel, shaving was done with a single edged blade cut throat style if they hadnt already indeed invented the hinged opposable blades like scissors for longer hair and beards. Otherwise why the references to trimming the side locks etc in their laws if they were unable to do so?
Maybe they did have scissors or sharp blades as they did circumcisions.
And they had long hair and beards to keep the sun off the faces to prevent sunburns.
But if shaving was convenient, then they would do it. It just takes too long to do it manually and they would get cut.

In reviewing the literature, I will venture to say that the anti-beard stance was from 1938 to 1968. Every single book from those years has Adam and many other Bible characters without a beard... and then the article in 1968 appeared, and, suddenly, the books had the same Bible characters WITH beard...
This is what all the KH brotheren who want beards need to do! If you want to send a message- maybe just bike it to Bethel!
The pics of Jesus with a beard did not just "appear"; there was a QFR that year explaining the change.

If you have the previous books, look up the pictures from 1938 to 1968... 1938 was the first year, and 1968 the last, where Adam has no beard...
1943 The Truth Shall Set you Free has Jesus without a beard... and many others...
The QFR is from 1954 and shows that there was already a pattern of WT literature showing Jesus without a beard...
There was a QFR in 1968 explaining why Jesus would now be shown with a beard.
Yes... the 1968 QFR marked the endpoint... but the 1954 QFR did NOT mark the beginning.... The beardless Jesus had been appearing way before that... that's my point...
I just think it is thelling that to org uses Lev 19:26 to justify blood doctrine, but then ignores (even refutes) the command to never shave that is the very next verse.
