So, if I'm reading this chart correctly, everything that falls under the plasma heading (on the right in Beli's diagram) is allowable?

Oops, let me clarify that. Everything under the plasma heading excluding plasma is okay?

Let me add to my comments above. First of all the file is huge. I think I sent it to Lilacs as a bit map (picture) file. Perhaps someone will have a suggestion on a smaller format that I can use to get this image to Lilacs.

Next, a word of caution: I am not sure who/where this document was prepared. That is, I am not sure if it was prepared in Brooklyn or if it was the work of a local Hospital Liaison Committee or an individual member of one committee. However, it was definitely presented by an HLC member who was well known by his committee to ‘work” this particular medical center (patients go to this center from all over the world) and he was well known to the medical staff. He had been “working” this particular center for years. What I am saying is that this is no stray, out of control guy, of whom the WT had no knowledge.

You are correct, they do not want to clarify these issues until a witness has his/her back to the wall.
Such a ‘cheat sheet” has been distributed to JWs, but notice the conditions under which it is distributed:
1. Only when a JW is facing a serious medical or surgical situation
2. On plain paper no WT letter head of any kind
3. These cheat sheets are distributed by HLC members to JWs "in a need to know situation"
4. The verbal explanation that goes along with the distribution of the sheet is "the top two layers (whole blood and its major fractions, white cells, red cells, platelets and plasma) are prohibited; all else is a conscience matter"

Most JW don't even know what fractions they do and don't accept.

They just parrot the wording they hear at the meetings.

Do we have any updated info on the blood-card NONdistribution this year?

You know what really gets me? This is what I've heard. Some of the vaccinations that Watchtower says are okay? You know how they are made?

They take baby chicks, like the little Easter egg chicks you see. They innoculate them with the virus or whatever. After a few days, the chicks are thrown, alive, (blood and all) into this giant blender. After THAT, the 'chicken soup' is made into vaccine.

I almost threw up when I learned this in school. I personally am a vegetarian, but I take the shots becasue I don't want to endanger my patients. I don't pray much, but when I pray when I get and give these vaccines becasue I feel so horrible with the knowlege I have.

So why is whole blood allowed by Watchtower in this case? Becasue they need the vaccines to carry on their 'preaching work' <gag> <choke> in other countries.

Beetle, you are so right. Without the vaccines the big boys could not travel all over the world. Those trips to far-off places are pretty nice; what a relief to get away from their little pigeon hole in Brooklyn.
