On a long enough time line, everyone's survival rate falls to 0.

Should we or Do we fear death?
We shouldn't fear death if we are sure of our beliefs.
As a christian I know from scripture what will happen after death and I don't fear it, I look forward to being with the Lord. It's natural to be wary of something we haven't seen or experienced. If you are scared maybe it's time for looking into the facts on God-- to be sure for yourself that whatever choice you have made is the right one.
I can prove indirectly what will happen after death. I'm not into blind faith. Very simply, There is proof for God and the Bible and everything written in it. Since there is that evidence we can trust the Bible and believe in God. Since the Bible has been validated over and over again by science, archeology, and prophecy we can trust what it says about death and after life as well

I was a JW for many years and am now a Christian. I don't fear death now like I did when I was a Witness (wondering if I made enough meetings and went out in Field Service enough to earn resurrection). Now, after reading the Bible and having a secure understanding of it (NOT the New World's Translation which is changed in many texts) and having a real relationship with the Father and Jesus, I am happy in my life now and what awaits after this life is done.
I think of death as the example from one of my favorite quotes: "A newborn chick doesn't know it's alive until its world begins to crumble. What seems like the collapse of our universe may be just an exciting begining."

Life is a time for making choices. Death is a time for remembering how we chose. Sometimes those memories are not plesant.
I think most people fear death because they look back at their lives and see regret at the decisions they made. They seldom regret what they did but rather what they did not do.
As far as death; do you fear sleep? Because before you die you will sleep first. And what is sleep? Unconsciousness. That is it. If you died in your sleep, you'd never know it. It's only while your alive that you fear it. Consider a dream so real, that while you're in it, you think it is real. But where are "you"? Maybe our lives are nothing more than aspects of Gods dream. Who knows?
Live life now because there are worse things than dying. My uncle had diabetes, lost both his legs, then died of kidney failure. But "lived" for years on dialysis and no legs. At the end it was it was grim. My other aunt has cancer and takes 53 pills a day, sleeps about 18 hrs and hasnt left her house in 4 years except to go to the hospital.
Life, true living is in the details we take for granted. The smile of your grandchildren, kiss of your lover, driving along and looking, I mean really looking at the wondrous beauty of the trees, flowers, etc. Gazing up at the heavens at night and sharing the experience with someone you call friend. A cheeseburger! Great sex. Bad sex.
Praise be to Jah, or Jesus or Darwin for our lives today. Now. And relative health to enjoy it.
To me this fear of death is one of the greatest rips of the JW religion because it is clearly inculcated to postphone living today to some undefined time in never-never land.
It's sad but only at the end do you realize that their feeble teachings are no match for the power that Death ultimately holds. The price for this realization is your life. Make certain you live it.

Should we fear death?
Absolutely not!!
FEAR only = False Evidence Appearing Real.
What's so scary about it anyway? We'll know good and proper at the right time for it, when we come to kick the bucket, whats the point in worrying un-nessarsarily about it in the meantime? There's a whole ruddy great arena of life there for us at the moment.
Keep your chins up.

Should we fear death?
sometimes. i think we all go through a period where we realize that we won't be around forever and we get scared. but there is absolutly no sense in constantly fearing the one thing that is absolutly going to happen to ever single one of us. don't waste LIFE being afraid of DEATH!
for me, i'm more afraid that i will die before i get a chance to do a lot of the things i hope to do someday.
How do you feel about dying?well, i'd like to stick around for awhile but i know that at some point i'm going to die, and it doesn't bother me.
But does death really bring the end to us?yes. death is the absolute end. death = nothingness.
Do you have a secret hope that there is something after life on earth?not at all. if i hoped for that (which i USED to) then i know that i wouldn't try very hard to make this life the best one i could. i'd just think that i had endless time to make things work.
Do you have reason or proof that there is?nope. there is no way to proove that heaven, hell, any type of spiritual world, god, gods, angels, etc are 'real' or just some fantasy!
Or do you think that future civillitations could actually bring us back to life?no. but they can always try . i don't think i'd want to be brought back to life, especially in the far future. i died, let me rest dammit!
when you blow out like a dead star it reminds me how uniform your beautiful is
My pet hope is that a future benevolent highly advanced society will rescue each of us at the point of death. That society will be so advanced technologically to us it will seem like magic. It would be like the movie What Dreams May Come.
