I watched him on Larry King the other night, and he was "right on", and did not do cold readings. He told a woman her brother, Mike, was sending her a message, and the things he said were true. He is in a Navy uniform, holding a necklace, etc. Larry emphasized that he had no way of knowing the calls coming in ahead of time, etc. That is just one example.
John Edward would say, "I have a man, with a name that starts with M" then list several M names, "was he in the military?" etc. Not a hard thing to guess, if it's an older woman, whose family would have likely served in WW2. That is what I call cold reading.........I've never seen James VP do it that way..........or Sylvia Brown. They are specific.
As to why the dead would talk to them?..........who knows? I am just fascinated by this, and open to the possibility. Why not?
I read the link to the Larry King show in 1999, which I didn't see. All I can say is the one last week, was incredible.
I also saw Mary Steenburgen on The View last week, promoting this movie, and she said some friends of hers dropped by the set, and James asked them which one of them had an uncle with a glass eye, because he was sending a message. They were all floored. She said she was skeptical until that happened. It was friends that she hadn't seen for awhile, and he would have no way of knowing they were coming to the set.
