Unfairly Disfellowshipped

    Hi,
After being disfellowshipped 2 years ago, I finally got up the courage to join this discussion board.

My story is short and sweet. Well not sweet but short. Two years ago someone sent a letter to the Watchtower Society in Brooklyn questioning and doubting their teachings. This person signed/forged my name on the bottom of the letter. Even though the forger did a very good job with my signature, it was very shaky and in my opinion, questionable. I was immediately brought in front of a Judicial Committee and they didn't believe me. I was disfellowshipped.

I didn't realize this at the time, but it was a blessing in disguise. This was when I realized the WT was run by men and not God.

Amen to that. God runs God. men run everything else. For now.

    Welcome to the board.

    Hi Cici --

You are not alone. Welcome to a place where people understand!!

I was immediately brought in front of a Judicial Committee and they didn't believe me. I was disfellowshipped.
I can relate! My committee didn't believe me, either (in the face of some false accusations). I didn't want to be DF'd, but I was. But now I realize it was exactly what was needed to set me free!

Yes, if you're not in the right crowd, if they have no use for you, the JW's will be quick to dismiss you! How loving and Christian --- not!! Holy spirit and truth has little or nothing to do with JW judicial proceedings. It's about a rush to judgment, combined with a love of power.

Glad you're philosophical about it all! Again, welcome to this board.

Yes Gopher, How true. I was not one of the bigger contributors to the organization. They said that denying the crime was not showing repentence.

Beautiful! Gotta love that illogic! In other words, you are automatically guilty! Otherwise you wouldn't need to repent!

At my JC, when I objected that this was the first I heard of these charges, and would need some time to prepare in order to properly defend myself against the serious charges, one of the "elders" said (and I have the audio tape to prove it) "An innocent person doesn't need a defense".

Which is pretty weird, I always thought the the innocent were the most deserving of a vigorous defense.

    Cici,
I am new to the board also. Welcome! Incredible! Did you try and appeal? If you denied it the committee should have taken that into account and at least given you the chance to take back what you supposedly wrote. But my exp. w/ committees is that there are some very stupid men out there. I used to serve on appeals committee for the Society and I found that most men were quick to judge and find you guilty instead of doing their homework and looking for the fruits that befit repentance. In my own personal committee meeting I even had to instruct the three elders as to the proper procedure to follow, seriously! Consider it their loss and not yours.

Cici: Hi and welcome. You'll find many people here who've been similiarly burned by the Tower...and you were burned in a PARTICULARLY bad way! (Of course, not as bad as people who are victims of rape and molestation and shunning!)

    That truly sucks.

But then again, looking on the bright side, you're here now, so you're one step further away from the Tower, which is never a bad thing.

Gotta love that Tower policy of "Guilty until proven innocent...err...ummm...guilty until disfellowshipped, then guilty forever!"

    Hi cici,
Welcome, and let me agree with the majority saying that the wt has a lot to answer for, but especially the men"elders" who get to play god with so many peoples lives.
