Why remove John 8:1-11 in the NWT if these verses speak highly of Jesus

As Cyrus the P says, this passage they have removed, in all probability does not belong in the Gospel of John. Have the W.T removed the verses (Long Conclusion) at the end of Mark ?

And, as Cold Steel says above, once you start making this kind of decision, where on earth do you stop ?

With all the editing/redacting etc that has gone on, if you established some kind of rule for rejection, and then followed it through in all of their Bible, you would not have a lot left !

As usual though, the W.T picks and chooses its own Bible, without recourse to logic, scholarship and even common sense, or with any regard to truth.

The question of what does and does not belong in the Bible canon is a very interesting one. Implicit in the question of course is that is should only include "inspired scriptures."

From that naturally follows these questions:

    • How do we know which scriptures are inspired and which are not?
    • In fact, how do we know that ANY of them are inspired?
    • Since Jesus and Jehovah have been silent about making and changes to the Bible canon for the last two millennia, what makes anyone think they should go changing anything now? Isn't their silence about the matter evidence of tacit approval? Or does it suggest something else?
    • Who actually is qualified to make such a determination? How do we know THAT? What credentials should a person possess to prove they are qualified to make changes to the Bible?
