How nice of you, and how brave of him to approach you for some help and validation. I'd love to get a "return visit" like that.

Great story I wish him well

On another note, the guys only 70 , not suffering from dementia , he`s obviously still got all his marbles , and he could live another 20 or 30 years with all his facultys intack .So knock off this" God he`s seventy "as if he`s about to kick the bucket ....just saying..from a 74 year old .

Thanks for sharing. Make sure to support this man and his wife - they will need it and it is good for you too.

On a positive note, glad to read of the snowballing effect and that it is a constant issue at BOE meetings.

It will take time, but the pace of crumbling will only continue to increase.

    What an encouraging thread.

You never know what some people are really feeling behind the corporate facade they put on.

Let's hope there is a tsunami of JW's that feel the same & leave.

If I was 70 years old, I would hate to wake up. Even far worse if he becomes athiest. Imagine at the end of his life thinking/realizing all of it was wasted. If he has a faith/christian, then atleast he'll believe in an afterlife or resurrection. If he becomes athiest, his very short time on earth was all wasted for a publishing company.

Actually, I was surprised when he told me he was 70. He doesn't look it at all. He probably could be one of those with another 20 or 30 years in front of him. But my understanding was that big life changes are harder on older people.

I know what a jolt is was for me and I woke up at about 40. Walked around like a zombie for a couple years after that. And I was fortunate to keep my life mate. My visitor yesterday fully understands the consequences of becoming inactive and the need to watch what he says around his wife. That's a lot of stress to put on an old body. That's a lot of stress to put on a young body too.

Regarding his wife, I told him that I have read some pretty clever ideas from other people in his situation on how to fade out without losing family. I'm going to try to find those threads so I can brush up on the stories. If you happen to know of one off the top of your head would you kindly post the link for me?

I want my 75 year old uber zealous and still pioneering mother to wake up, but in all honesty, it would probably kill her to know it is all for nothing and a wasted life stuck in a mind control cult.
