A friend of mine called me yesterday and he told me about a special meeting up at the assembly hall in Newburgh, NY regarding the Warwick project this passed Saturday that all elders and ministerial servants living within a 55 mile radius were invited to. He told me a lot of stuff but the gist of it was:

    1. Volunteer to work

    2. If you can't, send money

    3. Don't be critical of those who are

    a. volunteering

    b. sending in funds

    4. Open up your homes to volunteers who need a place to stay for days, weeks, months if needed.

He told me a lot, but most was WT propoganda designed to guilt you or fool you into supporting an unnecessary and ill conceived project. I gave you the main points that he stated to me.

So lame....we have this project and you idiots need to give up your time and money to support it. What was wrong with Brooklyn?

So, they want me to open my home to whatever freeloading jokehovian witlesses may be participating in the project, regardless of whether they are going to force incompatible cultures on me? Regardless of whether they are pedophiles, or whatever other crap they do? They might be complete snoops, insisting that I get rid of music that is not even bad because they do not like it (claiming it's bad or that they are stumbled). They might insist on knowing every password, every file on my computer so they can censor it (even if they don't plan on stealing anything). Do I really need an accounting for that porn site I visited a few years ago? Or that set of lights in my hall that they think are Christmas decorations? Suppose someone else in my building puts something up for Christmas? Ordinarily, that is not offensive. But, the jokehovians ban this, and innocent people can be blamed. One year while I was an active jokehovian, someone else in my building put up Christmas decorations and the witlesses thought I did it.

Thus, if they insist on my opening up my home to potential snoops, thieves, and even murderers, they are getting the whole nine yards. My passwords are locked. I visit every apostate site (and Satanic site) I can find. If I feel like watching porn, I will. They whine one time about a song being "bad", I go and play, on a streaming basis, the "filthiest" music I can get my mouse on. I have Christmas decorations up in my apartment all summer, and I put up more in the halls these days than what the witlesses thought I did while I was one of them. (Yes, there are other xians in my building and some of them feel like putting things out.) And I do it in the name of the sun, not even in Jesus--openly worshiping the sun. And not a damn thing they can do--they don't like it, they don't need to take it.

Or, I can charge rent. The going rate of rent these days is about 2 tubs of silver at today's price--I doubt they have that much money.

Three years of extra madness! Will the locals survive it? This is on top of their own bills, families and regular local demands? It will be interesting to watch this! Sounds like potential frenzy. However, the WTS is a master at driving their volunteers hard with guilt manipulation and organizational skills as long as people don't question.

Do you suspect there won't be much Kingdom Hall or Assembly Hall construction going on these next few years?

Since the Holy Spirit is guiding these decisions, I take that to mean that Armageddon is at least 3 years off in the future. Surely Jehovah would not expect his people/organization to take on such a monumental project that would be interrupted by The Day of His Anger.

I'm with you DOC except that Yahweh seems to be a bit unpredictable. Or perhaps the 'holy spirit' is a bit of a wild-card. You would think, the unchangeable 'rock' would just tell it like it is and leave it at that. Why all the adjustments? Maybe the GB have a bad connection and sometimes they get it wrong. They did not seem very sure when they embarked on this project.

    *** Proclaimers Book ***
"As early as the second issue of the Watch Tower, in August 1879, Brother Russell stated: “‘Zion’s Watch Tower’ has, we believe, JEHOVAH for its backer, and while this is the case it will never beg nor petition men for support. When He who says: ‘All the gold and silver of the mountains are mine,’ fails to provide necessary funds, we will understand it to be time to suspend the publication.”"

Maybe that time is getting close.

Sorry DOC, I think you're forgetting one little point from the July 15th 2013 WT - Russell, and all that he said and stood for, can now be treated with the contempt the Org feels he deserves, whenever it's convenient to do so.

In fact, my personal belief is that stronger 'requests' for donations will emerge during 2014, with the possibility of a new procedure to identify givers and non-givers - a bit like the Monthly Report! Make them feel guilty at not giving!
