    Oh!

I thought the shunning was a form of punishment, used in order to encourage the wandering sheep to repent and return to the fold.

True friendship can only be found inside the walls of the society. The love this organization has for its members, is amazing!

Yep its about information control, they didnt used to do this until after ray franz quit and a bunch of others along with him as well as some that were DF'd but the top Brass were scared that these ones esspecially Ray would talk to others and the house of cards would fall so they changed the rule about shunning DA'd ones. This probably back fired though because Ray wasnt planning on writing a book until after this happened to him. 1975 his book and the 1995 change about 'this generation' are probably the 3 biggest things to help wake people up to the ORG. Now with the internet and all these sites the top guys are really scared and the lack of money and growth and all the ones starting to leave is proof that yes indeed they should be scared.

Wt people want to make us believe that our salvation, wellbeing happiness depends on THEM.

If their stern looks, admonision are met with a content smile, they know they have lost.

so: through shunning the want to create misery, and not see smiling content faces of freed slaves.

In their minds we here do not exist.

minds that are in an illusion.

We were taught that once you leave your life would take a turn for the worse, that you would become depraved and decadent. It would not be good for them to see and freely associate with people who were basically the same, just not followers of the dictates of the Society. It would be counterproductive for those in the organization to see those who left being happy, successful... or simply living life day to day just like everyone else without extra angst or moral corruption. It would make people question more and they don't want that.
