The 1980 yearbook also dishonestly misquotes what Rutherford said. The actual quote from the Watchtower 1926 p.196

"Question: Have the ancient worthies returned?

Answer: Certainly they have not returned. No one has seen them, and it would be foolish to make such an announcement. It was stated in the "Millions" book that we might reasonably expect them to return shortly after 1925, but this was merely an expressed opinion ; besides it is still shortly after 1925."

The WTS. have been self imposed marketing gurus for some time now, its almost like they were running

and operating their very own publishing house.

Some expected to go to heaven that year.

Like the word 'evidently' is a trigger, the word 'some' always puts me on alert because it's a 'spin' word to shift from the WTS's culpability in leading the membership down a wrong path and implies the r&f were to blame for it.

'Some' thought Russell was the FDS. Nope, the WTS leadership thought it and taught it.

'Some' expected Armageddon and their heavenly reward in 1914. Nope, the WTS leadership thought it and taught it.

At one time 'some' thought that certain prophecies may have applied to literal Palestine in this [20th] century. Nope, the WTS leadership thought it and taught it.

Too much emphasis was placed on 1975 by 'some' Bible teachers. Nope, you, the WTS leadership, placed too much emphasis on the date.

The phrase JFR used often was "indisputable facts." Search this 1938 book and you will see he continued even after 1925.

In 1922 the society's principal journal, Watch Tower, described its chronology as "no stronger than its weakest link", but also claimed the chronological relationships to be "of divine origin and divinely corroborated...in a class by itself, absolutely and unqualifiedly correct" [10] and "indisputable facts", [4] while repudiation of Russell's teachings was described as "equivalent to a repudiation of the Lord". The Watchtower, March 1, 1922, page 73, "The indisputable facts, therefore, show that the 'time of the end' began in 1799; that the Lord's second presence began in 1874."

My dad was a child when he was personally handed the "Children" book on stage by Rutherford when it was released...I shudder to think of the brush he had with such an evil person. The event is noted in the proclaimers book. My dad was there as a young kid and was paraded on stage to get his copy.

Not only do the current GB state that rutherford was the beginning of the Faithful and discreet slave but rutherford himself said in one of his writings that angels communicate directly with him
