They must have been ungodly and not praying enough, lol. How does it work? Weather affects everyone so do they imagine there is a collective statewide scale of grace that they have to reach to get good weather?

That was exactly how they thought about the situation in ancient Israel, where some sin that wasn't atoned threatened the entire land with calamity, eg drought.
I suspect the hunt for scape-goats to take the blame in TX will begin soon, with the usual targets of the pogrom being muslims, gays, and better yet, atheists. Gov Perry will no doubt announce an arrest warrant has been issued for atheists, with a round-up of members of the ACA (Atheist Community of Austin, TX) to begin shortly.

Hope no one is badly affected. If its any consolation, Alberta was the coldest place on earth earlier this week ... it was -40 here with wind chill. Kind of chilly.
