CC, I am glad that they are encouraging the rapid reporting. I wish they would put calling the police first in the case of ANY form of child abuse and worry about the legal department secondarily or not at all (which would seem logical if they let the law take care of things as they should.)

Child abuse is a crime, the elders ARE NOT POLICE.

They are morally, ethically and legally obligated to report any such accusations to the relevant authorities and they should be advising all in the congregation to do the same.

NOT after contacting the branch, but first.

How any elder sleeps at night is beyond me.
