Does all other organized religions (christian and non-christian) other than JW's require you to go over some 100 or more questions to qualify for baptism?

Amazing how in its purest form that when in Jesus Christ/Apostles time it was perhaps a few questions of belief and repentance.

Acts Chapter 8, Phillip rides in the chariot of the Ethiopian "Eunuch", explains about Jesus, and then stops at some small lake and baptizes the man.

That is the first century pattern, all a person needs to know is that Jesus is their saviour, of course the W.T does not even teach that.

The idea that the local elders "qualify" someone for baptism is a fiction. The elders think they do. And the candidate is left with the impression that the elders do that with the 100+ question routine. But from the Society's standpoint, consider the info in this post. Also, see this post and this one for additional.

The WTS did not start asking questions until the Lamp book came out around 1968/1969. Before that people just showed up with their swimming gear at the baptism talk.

Many new publishers are looking forward to being baptized at the district assembly. Do they know what to do? In addition to covering the questions in the “Lamp” book, do they know that they are to have with them on the day of baptism a bathing suit and towel?

Additionally, the Watch Tower Society has recently provided in English, and in a number of other languages, the publication “Your Word Is a Lamp to My Foot,” showing the Scripturalness of Jehovah’s modern-day organization in the earth. In the first portion of this publication some key Bible questions are propounded, together with their answer in the form of Scriptural citations. When the student consults with the overseer of the local congregation and can affirm that his life is in harmony with the Scriptural pattern and shows that he can comment with understanding on these basic truths, then, indeed, such a person is in position to dedicate himself in prayer to Jehovah and undergo water baptism in symbol of his dedication to do Jehovah’s will. Such fine guides to accurate knowledge, provided by Jehovah as the Great Teacher through his channel of communication in the earth today, help us to appreciate what Jehovah requires of each person who loves him and desires to serve him. Then truly such a person is in position to say as did the Ethiopian with whom Philip discussed the truth: “Look! A body of water; what prevents me from getting baptized?”—Acts 8:36.

Jehovah’s people have not been interested in mere numbers. What is important is that baptismal candidates understand what they are doing. That is why there was great appreciation for a provision made in the book “Your Word Is a Lamp to My Foot,” published in 1967. On pages 7 to 40, it contained eighty Scriptural questions, to be discussed by mature brothers with prospective baptismal candidates. “After they studied the eighty questions with the aid of the congregation committee,” observed Brother and Sister Earl E. Newell, “they realized that their dedication and baptism was one of a lifelong course and the responsibility that went with it was not to be taken lightly.” The more recent book Organization for Kingdom-preaching and Disciple-making (published in 1972) makes a similar provision for discussion of Scriptural questions with those who are considering baptism. As various elders of the congregation conduct these sessions with each individual, those contemplating baptism are afforded an opportunity to express themselves on Biblical matters and weigh their relationship with Jehovah God. Such a provision has helped to make true disciples.

Many Denominations have a catechism you must go through before baptism.

Good response, designs. My husband went through such a set a questions for catechism (Lutheran). Even they want the semblance their members know the basics. My husband did not go through the last third of the questions to be baptized into the WTS, elder in charge said, "We know you are a good guy, Irreverent, and know the answers"....................!

Interesting how the WT lie about their baptism process on their web site JW.org. They insist their that they are christian, and that anyone baptized as a JW does so in the name of Jesus. Not true. His name is not mentioned in the Vows.

Of course, they do not mention on so public a site the tortuous process one has to go through before being "accepted" for baptism as a member of the Organization.

Thinking about it, it is less painfull to be initiated in to one of the Street Gangs in the Hood.
