Jehovah’s Witness elder arrested for sexual abuse

Posted on December 10, 2013 by WT LEAVE A COMMENT

ronald lawrence arrest photoA man serving as a Jehovah’s Witness elder minister in Oklahoma was arrested on 19 counts of sexual abuse, according to authorities. Authorities said they had received numerous reports of other children being molested by Ronald Lawrence, 76 years of age, from more than 30 years ago.

It is believed, according to Lawrence’s arrest warrant, the Kingdom Hall church where Lawrence was an elder, chose not to inform law enforcement of the abuse. Authorities said that if the Jehovah’s Witness church withheld information from authorities that they too could face criminal charges.

There is evidence the Jehovah’s Witness organization was aware of a problem that took place back in 2005, yet he continued to serve as a clergyman for the sect.

The arrest took place in late November.

    30 years!

Based on what is written, this looks like pure dynamite.

    Another headache for WT legal.

Had a conversation with a relative not too long ago during which he made a comment about pedophilia within the Catholic Church. I had to remind him we can't point the finger at them when we've got the same thing going on in this organization. All he could do was nod his head in agreement.

It is very sad children were abused/molested by one man and than abused again into keeping quiet by parents, elders, and/or the WTBTS.

Luke 6:41“Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?

Even if it wasn't written in the Bible, IMHO it makes more sense to always evaluate ones actions and actions of organizations that one belongs to rather than find faults in others.

Peace be with you and everyone, who you love,

    Robert

Excellent SFPW. Plus now the Catholic Church is not only admitting to the problem but leadership is activly taking real steps to try to solve it.

In the continuing education courses I must take in order to do AYTHING related with the children at our church, the main theme is recognizing signs of abuse, recognising situations which are dangerous, and always, always to report to proper authorities. These education classes have been around for years and required.

Hope all these news reports start waking people up that no matter what church you go to, there are bad apples mixed in. The bible said the wheat and weeds would grow together. The WT tries to teach that such was in the past and only the wheat are in their congregations and it's 'protected', 'clean', but their attempts to white wash and try to push ahead bible prophecy which hasn't happened yet, and apply things to themselves exclusively will never work.

Another pedophile among hundreds if not thousands of JW child molesters. And another one abusing an authority position. Disgusting. May he rot in jail. And hopefully the WT jerks who empowered him. People need to be made aware of this on the outside constantly to see the criminality of it. Thanks for posting this Truthseekeriam. People need to know how the WT Society hides and empowers child molesters

EndofMysteries - "...no matter what church you go to, there are bad apples mixed in."

Maybe so, but I'm willing to bet you're a lot less likely to find inherent problems like this in churches that embrace fiscal and poliy transparency, utilize the democratic process, respect and acknowledge the discoveries of science and history, and engage in positive community activism...

EndofMysteries - "...their attempts to... push ahead bible prophecy... will never work."

History is rife with marginilized and extremist End-Times groups who got tired of waiting for God to catch up to their expectations, and thought some kind of Apocalyptic kick-start might be in order...
