Reading thie information on the webpage has been a huge task, and impossible to accomplish. But i am grateful for the expertise and kindness of those that have enabled me to do a indepth search on the organisation and in general re-evaluate my religiouse beliefs.

Ok maybe i didnt explain myself very well...i think this site is an important work of scholarship on the " J.W" religion and it also contains a lot of people of who have opened there hearts to the pain this religion has caused..and just to put it in to contest this site now contains a beautiful collection of fact and emotion.

In my humble opinion thanks ...past and present posters and no hard feelings that this appresiative message of thanks got no replys...its down to your humility..

I too have appreciated this site from the day I found it.

At the time I was a born-in JW, still going to Meetings,though not partcipating in Field Service.

This site was the primary aid in my learning the Truth, the truth about the WT/JW scam posing as a religion, and the truth about a number of other matters, such as Evolution etc.

I also received fantastic emotional support and advice, it really was, and is, literally a life-saver for me !

Thank you Simon, and all who have, and do contribute.

NHAH: i think this site is an important work of scholarship on the " J.W" religion

Certainly many of us appreciate this site as a forum to openly discuss and debate various ideas, all something you can't do in a KH.

However, calling this site "an important work of scholarship" is certainly overstating things. Possibly you're still suffering from the illusion that the WTBTS engages in "scholarship" on any level. Remember this chestnut, "Reading the WT & Awake! for four years is equivalent to a university education!"

Scholarly research, real scholarship, is quite different from what most people understand it to be.

Here's a quote from Cornell University that might get you thinking in the right direction:

Scholarly or peer-reviewed journal articles are written by scholars or professionals who are experts in their fields. In the sciences and social sciences, they often publish research results.

In spite of what JWs think about themselves, they are NOT Bible scholars. Hell, they're hardly even "Bible students!" Mostly, they are regurgitators of WTBTS propaganda which is touted as "theology."

Why do i stand by that?

Well i can assure you i am not suffering from the illusion that the W.T engages in scholorship. Maybe i am suffering from the illusion some ex members of the religion who post here qualify as both schlors of the bible and the history of the organization.

Anyway its not what we read that counts its how we read...

I have found much of what has been posted on here, and still is, to be an education.

Leolaia I respect as an expert in the area of Bible sholarship, though this is not actually what her official Academic qualifications are in, it is more of a hobby to her.

She is not currently posting here, but a huge archive of her erudite work is here to be had by using the "search" button.

Cantleave and Cofty help us with Biology, Chemistry and Evolution etc. Many posters help with human relationships and problems. AnnOmally and Jeffro are experts on bible Chronology.

Barb Anderson and Blondie are great on WT history and quotes etc

If you want, by reading old posts etc, I do believe that on here you can get a fair education. Of course the place contains the thoughts ,ideas and opinions of people of various backgrounds and skills,and it must not be regarded as the fount of all knowledge, but it is a good place to start.

Just do not stop at this place, question, check sources, read more and question again.

But, JWN really is marvellous.
