I'd feel more guilty if I were still peddling their bullshit...
Do you feel guilty?

A feeling of guilt is probable and likely given the mental indoctrination that people go through in becoming a member
of this religions cult. The constant use of guilt is always being implied to JWS to do more for the cause of the organization
to recruit others into the JWS. There is little time left at hand you know. Do you want a mass number of people's deaths
on your conscience because you didn't go out in service enough. etc. etc.
.
Being loyal to the dictates of the leaders of the WTS. is in kind to appeasing god, not being loyal to these men is
tantamount of being insulting and disrespectful to god and his chosen earthly arrangement.
So hey talk about a level of guilt.

I feel less guilty now. A load was lifted off my chest as soon as I learned that Jesus didn't hate me because I didn't underline my WT before the meeting.

JMNTD,
Guilt is a WTS tool that they wield in so many ways. You are a sensitive, caring person and that is just the typle of individual that they prey upon most effectively. Against all common wisdom, this is the one time to put yourself first - kind of like the airline advice to put your breathing device on before you try to help anyone else.

I left as a matter of personal integrity. I was brought up to be a lover of truth. When I found out that the WT/JW scam was founded on, maintained by, and full of LIES, I simply could not remain and still have any self-respect.
So, I do not feel guilty at all.
I regret that we no longer see some of the wonderful people we know who are JW's, who we have known all our lives, we have seen their children born and then grow up and have children of their own. We have lost an extended family really.
Mrs Phizzy and I are both happier immeasurably since leaving, which has been a surprise bonus !

Well I got rejected five times to get RI'd, so the question is do I ever feel guilty I am not trying to get RI'd. No I never feel guilty, I did my best, I put 5 letters is and got told nonsense each time why I did not qualify. In fact not only do I feel guit free, I am happy I couldn't get back in they opened my eyes to the CULTishness of it all.

Yeah, I do feel guilty for the simple reason that I was raised in this religion and that most of the people I know on a social level are in there. But like others said above, I would feel much more guilty if I was IN as I can't imagine brining my kids to believe things that don't hold up against the test of time and truth.
