Sure, the economy accounts for it in one respect - but as the yearly reports across the states show, there has been a slowing down of growth. Baptisms are trending downwards, memorial attendances are stagnating and there have been on this board anecdotal reports that meetings - especially mid-week ones - are not well attended. Who cares if the Sunday meeting is better attended? That's true for churches in general! Big deal.
On the topic of foreign-language congregations, the same holds in New Zealand: The few that have been established are booming whilst the English-speaking ones splutter along.
