Are they actually doing this? This is so sad....
The website looks well made, but it is the most inane, cult flavoured nonsense I have ever seen. The JW's dont bother reading the literature delivered to them in white vans, they won't sit and read those old articles just because they are online.
As for non-JW's the site offers nohing but strange 'stepford wife' like family advice 70 years out of date and bizzare views on science and technology.
Websites are a useful tool, this is something WT don't get. This forum is big because it is a tool for finding and signposting information PEOPLE WANT. Google is a tool, pornhub is a tool, bbc news is a tool, netflix is a tool... JW.ORG is an advertisment for a cult. They are trying to push something onto people in a media format that relies on people naturally finding there way to it due to its use or current status in society, i.e. how cool it is.
JW.org is bound to fail as there is no finishing line, there is no success point, no goal. It is simply there to be ignored. Anyone googling the JW's due to an interest maybe after a chat with them or concerned for a family member, will not be stupid enough to go to JW.org, we are a consumer society we read reviews, we hunt for negative opinions on toasters, nevermind our next religion. JW.org will not satisfy what JWfacts, Watchtower Quotes, Freeminds and the thousands of youtube videos, winning the online JW-exJW war on information can offer.
Watchtower is such a spooky name in 2014, with such a sensitivty to freedom as we have today, the word just screams control and constant overlooking of a big brother. WATCHTOWER ! It also has no obvious religious or scriptural basis to the masses and most JW's making it a very cold and lifeless word. Knowing this, they have opted for this movement towards JW.ORG ...... a clear PR campaign in progress. But they are SO DUMB, they claim to be a religion, the whole world whether religious or not, is dubious about belief systems and their motivations, namely...is it about the money? The jw's have gone ahead and called themselves jw. ORG. When you see a ORG website, it screams BUSINESS, INDUSTRY, MONEY, it does not communicate religious love and tolerance... Facepalm.
and so now...they are forced to use their FREE manpower, to go door to door, slipping a leaflet through every letterbox advertising this religious business new pr campaign. Let's hope for our ex associates sake, it is letterboxes, who wants a discussion at the door about a website? Yuck !
