Sheep are interesting creatures—docile, timid, and often plain stupid.
Now, you don't have to be docile, timid and plain stupid to be sheep-like - but it sure helps. As a New Zealander with a respectfully close acquaintanceship with sheep (Australians: no dirty jokes, please ) I can also add they can be willful and act against their longer term interests. I well remember one sheep from the old school who refused to give up her fleece and ended up on the dinner table. She could not say she was not warned. And yes, she had stopped attending meetings at that time - which probably explains how this once docile creature developed a willful attitude that that proved to be her downfall. Baa humbug.

Hi Newly Enlightened,
Do the sheep stay out in the winter time ? Do you put them away in the winter & if so, do the shepherds or you stay out with them. I ask because that's the witnesses explaination for that Jesus was not born in the winter or Dec. 25th....although I live in NYC & Xmas time the temp. was approx. 64 degrees.
Just asking,

And that is the Ideal JW, the one they want you to humble yourself to be. Docile, timid, and an non thinker aka Stoopid.

As a general rule, non-thinkers do better with religious beliefs because the beliefs require an unavoidable level of blind trust. Active brain cells work against the kind of religious "faith" promoted by the "great" religions of the world (Christianity, Judiasm and Islam).
