Getting bariatric surgery in March!

I lost half my body weight in about 18 months. I was left with excess skin on my abdomen, that the insurance paid for to be removed. I feel great!

I know people who have had the sleeve, with great success. At the time I had my surgery, it was a pretty new procedure, and my surgeon thought I might qualify, since my bim was 55, but we opted for the RNY, since it was already approved. I do not get the dumping syndrome, and I only puked twice, at the very beginning.

Your success will depend greatly on your following the instructions. It is hard, and a lifelong battle. You can do it. I know the liquid diet is hard, but it will soon be a distant memory, especially once you are back to your old, active self again!

They moved up the surgery date, I'm going under the knife on Monday!

Feeling both anxious and a little nervous, but I'm sure everything will go well.

I am so happy for you. I think the sleeve is safer . Are you in USA? I also wondered about the waiting time. I have heard you have to have been on diets unsuccessfully -ones supervised by your doctor . The dumping syndrome is real, I had my Gall Bladder out and had this happen. The doc said he had not seen that very often but it can happen.

I saw this on TLC, http://www.tlc.com/search.htm?terms=Mayra+Rosales.

It was very hard to watch but Mayra is a wonderful person. I follow her on face book. Her life has been completely changed. It first aired on TLC and then I looked it up. What an amazing person she is .
