it will take more than prayer to overturn my water tight logic though
Hmmmm…interesting…logic trumping prayer. Sorry follower, it appears I mistook you for a fundamentalist rather than a ‘foot puller’.
My apologies. :)

now you have got me really confused, could you clarify: who am I again?
your answer will be very helpful in enabling to continue everyday life
You would do yourself a favor to do extensive on the matter before going too far, and listening to your mom might be a good thing as well.
In the end hopefully you will make the right choice.

Why are none of you not directing this person to God's word the bible?
Yes, study the bible by all means, however do it WITHOUT Watchtower literature to guide you.

Borgfree,
Do you have something better to say to him?
Fred, my advise would also be, definately pray and read the bible daily. But, I believe God hears prayers, not just JW prayers and I also believe in a personal relationship with The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit.
I found it very benefitial to go to conventions of ex-jws, where I could discuss what had happened in my life as a JW, along with others who had been there too.
I would recommend visiting a good bible based church, talk to the Pastor, talk to Christian believers and witness the Christian love there. Many believers will be happy to help in any way they can.
I would make the same recommendation to you Fred.

Borgfree,
I believe that Jehovah hears none JW's prayers too. And what bible based church are you reffering me to?
Fred,
I am not an expert on churches, but I have found Independent Baptist to stick to the scriptures closely. I enjoy Pentacostal because I like the singing and worship services there. I never experienced really worshipping God as a JW.
I have been to Methodist churches and I believe they are all right, there are a couple of things I may not like personally about Methodist.
I have been to Church of the Brethren. I thought they were a very loving and biblical church.
As I mentioned on another thread, I probably enjoy getting together at ex-jw conventions best.

Since some JWs maintain that Jehovah hears none JWs prayers too,
keep that in mind next time they come to your door. Then they should not object to you the householder offering a prayer invoking God's guidance and wisdom to help them understand God's Word. Then proceed into the Scriptures, but don't get into Watchtower literature (which is their explanation of it). Stick to the Word.
