Jehovah gives the earth to the meek ones

I don't see JW's as being "meek" They show up unannounced Sat morn.
I'm still in my PJ's for cryin out loud, but they still want to bang me on the head with their "message." They lord it over everyone else that they are "the only ones" who have Jehovah's blessing. They use emotional warfare (DF'ing) on those who dare question their "teachings." and so on and so forth.

Leander, just a note : I recently finished reading a book about the Scopes Monkey Trial of 1925, entitiled Summer For The Gods. I noticed in it that during the early 1900's there was a climate that existed in the US whereby any who were critical of the government were suspected of sedition (much of this due to the climate brought about by WW I, no doubt). What impressed me was that at that time, it was not at all unsual for individuals or groups to be suspected of seditious activity. This raised a question in my mind, which is obvious: was the imprisonment of the bible students back then really such an outstanding event? Was it something that, given the climate at the time, could almost have been expected? I'm not sure, but I have wondered.

Yes he did, but once again the JW organization blows the whole thing out of proportion. Alot of people were arrested for "sedition" during WW1, e.g. socialist & communist. After the war, President Wilson gave a lot of pardons & sentence commutions to people who had been hastily & heavy handedly dealt with during the "war time fervor", including the JW's. They make it sound like the President was used by God for some special commision to fulfill bible prophecy, which was not the case (Eugene Debbs' imprisonment made the news, not J.F. Rutherford's).

And the sentences handed out were concurrent, not consecutive, but they were rather large sentences nontheless, I believe. I was at bookstudy too, and it was sickening. Every God damn verse in Isaiah has a "mordern day fulfillment". Apparently, the bible was written for JW's .

There was increase after 1919 because before the prison doors even shut behind them, the Watchtower leaders began LYING about the whole affair.

They claimed they were unjustly arrested--a lie.

They claimed they were unjustly tried-a lie.

They claimed they were unjustly imprisoned-a lie.

They claimed they were vindicated-a lie.

You don't see much increase in those areas where the truth is known DO YOU?
