Lauralisa--soledad means "loneliness" in both spanish and portugese. that's pretty much how I can sum up my existence as a JW and now during this transitory period after JW life.
What the head makes cloudy the heart makes very clear.

Welcome, and you now can get into the meat and potatoes of 'your' story.

Welcome Soledad!
Thanks for sharing your story. My Mother is a product of the believing/non-believing parent arrangement, also. She didn't get the best of both worlds either. My Grandfather just watched from the sidelines, helplessly, while my Grandmother indoctrinated her children with the WT's insidious cult dogma.
My heart just breaks for kids that have to cope with the belief that one of their parents is going to be destroyed at Armageddon.

Hiya Soledad,
Please note I have a penchent for shortening names, Sole. A world traveler, eh? Cool. I was born in Indiana and moved to S. Carolina when 30 - and that's it.
I came into the lying Truth at age 18, left at 50 (it took me longer.) Thankfully, my 3 kids did as you did - all left by age 20, one earler.
Glad you decided to stop lurking. Since you know how we *are* - just jump right in!

Hi Soledad!!
Welcome to the board. I grew up also with a witness mom and non-witness dad. He also went along with the no holiday thing. I too only went to meetings on Sunday and never went out in service until I became a teenager. So I can very much relate to your experience as a witness child.
