I like this story, CoCo. None of us really know what it will be like...will a part of us be aware of what is taking place? Do we really cease to exist? My mom was in another realm before she passed. Where was she? Did something/someone take hold of her hand? Some said she was talking with God. Of course, as a jw , I thought that was a ridiculous thing to say. But, who really knows with certainty?

Where was mom before she ceased to exist?

Do we find 'ourselves' in another realm of the universe. No one alive ( or dead) can answer that question with certainty.

If we are made of stardust do we return to stardust?

Ashes to ashes. Stardust to stardust?

Being amongst the stars doesn't sound too bad!

All those questions Who are we? What are we? Is there some meaning to our existence and do we continue? I thought that if I gave it everything i could and dedicated my life to the search I would find the answers. It's proven to be a long and somewhat disturbing adventure. All i can come up with is "I don't know". After all this time the magnitude of what we don't know even about our planetary history is amazing. I'm just going to use my remaining lifetime to sort through whatever evidence i can verify and ponder possibilites. The one thing I do know is the meaning of life is to live and the pursuit of happiness is good and the pleasing of some demanding god is off the table.

Thanks, rip and Nancy, for sharing such intriguing thoughts.

There are so many possibilities regarding what occurs beyond our finite senses. Does any of this unseen and unknown actually proceed beyond our vivid imaginations into an invisible but viable world, a world that awaits us once we've gone from the physical into an as-of-yet undisclosed state?

We speculate while we live our daily lives . . .

    Regards.

Your words are always so refereshing. It is an unlikely forum for someone to so frequently inject such moments of grace. And yet you keep them coming. Please never stop posting your elegant words.

I miss Leolaia very much for her tremendous clarity and depth of research. If you were ever to go, I would very much miss you for your genuinely heartfelt feeling and awesome style.

    Dear flamegrilled:

How kind you are to attach worth to what has been written. I am very grateful that you have explained why you enjoy these vignettes. With the time that remains, I want to dig deep down, draw up the innermost from heart and mind and, then, put pen to paper.

You've given me renewed incentive to continue.

Yes, we all miss Leolaia very much -- she is a universal treasure.

    Love and peace.

    Good morning, CoCo!

    .( formatting...aaaaaaauuuugggggghhhhhh!)

    .

I was reminded a little of The Twilight Zone episode when DEATH ( Robert Redford) comes knocking on the elderly lady's door and she doesn't want to let him in!

    .

Were you inspired by this story?

    Thanks, rip, for the link!

I was an avid fan of TTZ, but I don't remember that one. Strange -- I believe it was an old wingback chair I was offered that indirectly inspired me. Or the name Fred . . . wish I could remember as I had just gotten out of bed and began writing away.

I've been having trouble lately with formatting, especially cut/paste.

    See you later.

Just watched "Nothing in the Dark."

Wow! Gladys Cooper was also in "Night Call," which I recall with chills to this day. The downed telephone line that lay across his . . .

    Thanks again.

I just watched "Night Call". This one I didn't re'call'.

Not sure that this still holds up since the advent of *69, caller ID and Call block!

Anyway, the writer obviously believed that women should not be insistent or pushy as they'll end up old and , um...alone!

Do you think he was inspired by a visit from some by pioneer sisters?!?! Lol.

Given the ubiquitous nature of that "large army of women," rip, I should think that something has made it to print or screen by a so influenced producer of words and cinema -- oh, yeah:

A Perfect World, with Kevin Costner!
