Jah-Jireh? Where's the Christianity in that name?

Sounds like some kind of strange blend of Judaism and Rastafarianism.

My 50 years long ultra loyal JW mother has even said that the name "Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses" sounds like some kind of quasi Jewish sect rather than a real Christian religion.

Why don't JW's just rip the Christian Greek Scriptures out of their new grey NWT's and be done with it? After all, in JW doctrine, Jesus is redundant. He's just a step above one of the arch-angels. You can't talk to him or pray to him, and he serves no practical function whatsoever in JW theology. He was made King in 1914 - although nobody realised this except a few thousand Bible Students - then he retired in 1919 and handed everything over to the FDS (Governing Body), who you must blindly obey and remain loyal to in order to get saved.

The brothers could be backing this as a way to get higher interest rate returns on their money. The Ponzi Schemes the Brothers have invested in, this might be a step up from the Sister in the North West's "Pay Day Loan" Ponzi Scheme, she cleaned out ?,$$$,$$$ from the brothers who put faith in her.

The Watchower has a large population of elderly needing care, who is going to care for them? Who has the responsibility to care for them? The WTS has pushed that on Congregations forcing them to build homes on land that was only meant to be used as a Kingdom Hall. I wonder how the dead JWs would feel land they donated for only a Church has three families living on it? The Brothers in South County forced the congregation to pledge for the next 20 years, you got to love them for getting the JWs to pony up cash for former COs with no personality and full of illnesses while the Missionaries are thrown back on their worldy families. This religion makes no sense, the Watchtower is building a college and hotel while their faithful members might end up sleeping at a Born-Again Shelter or Catholic Rest Home?

I visited the one near Southport UK once where an old friend of my parents was resident. It pretty much seemed like any other nursing home to me. The residents get the meetings either piped in or sometimes have speakers giving talks there - they do the Watchtower together , since kindom songs etc. Of course there is no problem with Xmas , Easter etc which is always used as a selling point. There certainly never is a problem getting enough residents - there is something of a waiting list.

The UK accounts are here : http://apps.charitycommission.gov.uk/Accounts/Ends23/0001062023_AC_20121231_E_C.pdf

The residents tend to be former pioneers - some COs or their wives - even the occasional "anointed". Workers are all JWs - a nurse from our congregation was offered a job there but declined (the pay was pretty rubbish). There was a time when Jah-Jireh used to send occasional mail shots to congregations & tried to recruit "advocates" in each congregation to try to raise the profile & get some donations in and find the few JWs who had relevant qualifications to work there.

Interesting some of the names in the US involved with the project. The irony of Judah Shroeder going to university while being the son of a GB member at a time when the GB insisted that rank & file members weren't allowed always rankled with me.

I couldnt think of anything worse , it would even be better to be in a prison , at least their you can retain your individuality.

Every move you make would be scrutinized by JW guards and their pimps , controlling every aspect of your life without any let up.You would have no personal life or freedom to do your own thing , it is all controlled .

I would rather be dead .

If you are where I think you are, it wouldn't cost only $1000 in your country.
