Well, all parodying of the January 2014 Awake aside: No, not so unique. Unlike the claims of JW.org, it is not the one true website that will solve all your problems. In fact, JWlove.org will not be for everyone and I admit that there are likely other places where the same information is presented in a better, more comprehensive manner. So far, the website is in its infancy and is a work in progress.
The link can be found here: www.JWlove.org
This is mainly for Jehovah’s Witnesses who are just awakening and reexamining their beliefs from a Scriptural viewpoint. Or perhaps there are former Jehovah’s Witnesses who have left, but have never carried out such an examination and need to clear out the theological cobwebs as it were. Though this is from the perspective of Christianity, it is not fundamentalist or dogmatic. Nor will the website be about leading anyone to joining a certain church, denomination or religious leader. There will be no donation button.
Why JWlove? While some might believe it is a dating site, mainly it is to highlight what many of us feel. We love the individuals within the Jehovah’s Witness religion. We have friends and family still within. Part of loving someone is being truthful with them, but the sad fact is few will speak to us at all. Therefore, the aim is to “speak truth in love”. Perhaps someone will be ready to listen.
My hope is that since 2014 is 100 years since 1914, and 2015 will be 40 years since 1975, that some Jehovah’s Witnesses will be more open to such a reexamination, especially after these years pass by in the rearview mirror. Hopefully, JWlove may be an important first step in their awakening.
