Stupid or Smart move? Well it's a typical move. After all if Bill is dead, the living witnesses won't listen to what he has to say. The public won't care much I think. The rank and file won't give it much thought with only a few exceptions. BUT those studying may wake up. I'll bet quite a few bible studies get canceled over this one.

The WTBS has spent the last several years emphasizing "local control", decentralizing leadership, severing legal links between the GB and the corporation, etc. No judicial action, notes or elder comments are to EVER link the action to the WTBS.

Now, with judicial action in different congregations initiated in unison, it sets a precedent of hierarchal control from the top down, just the thing the WTBS has been trying to deny in recent years to limit lawsuit liability.

Not a very smart move at all.

Do you think it was Stupid or Smart for the Watchtower

Come to think of it? Has the Watchtower ever done anything which you can call "Smart"?

    Beans,

The WT is failing. The shunning is becoming diluted to the r&f member. Idiot moves for a mass disfellowshipping are getting a lot of press and showing the world what a bunch of rabid cult whores they really are.

I can't see how the WTBS can wash their hands about local elders decisions. Are not the elders appointed by the WT? Would they not be considered as agents for the corporation? So how can the WT distance themselves on any decision making by the congregation elders.

Also our duty here is not necessarily to try and take those out of the borg, but to inform the general public how dangerous this cult really is.

IMO--only stupid moves are made by the WT, I can't even fathom the idea of having the term smart relate to these bunch of ding dongs....

Bowen and his associates are NOT JW's. They are not being silenced. Obviously the press is all to willing to give Bowen a voice. The divorce is merely an official organizational action. The things Bowen has said publicly in these forums about JW leadership shows gross disrespect. If someone treats you disrespectfully don't you make it clear to them that you can no longer be friends.
