I thought it was hilarious that his son said that he expected it to be just like the other eight times, where he went home, got sick and recovered. That's like saying you were surprised that you got hit by a car, when every other time you crossed the freeway with a blindfold on you managed to make it. It wasn't even the first death in that church from handling serpents.

There is no cure for stupidity of that magnitude, except for the obvious, death.

That's what the bible or any other holy book does to people.......stupidity at its best!!!

    LOL.....

Jump off a cliff.......and pray you don't hit the ground

BEWARE OF DOG sign. No problem.......... Jus' pray that dog is toothless

Play wit a poisonous snake........don't seek treatment . Have faith. PRAY

    .

    .

    From what the Bible states

Satan told Jesus to jump off a cliff, to see if the angels would catch 'em

    .

    .

Jesus knew satan was crazy as hell

    and didn't do it

    .

    .

He wasn't "weak in the faith "he was wise..

ONly a fool would compare wise as bein' weak

look like the scale is tipped in favor of foolishness

    .

There is no shortage of idiots for "the Lord". Even preschoolers would shrink from touching poisonous things.

More main stream media interest in Jamie Coot's death continues to fill the airwaves. See this link .

    http://religion.blogs.cnn.com/2014/02/17/was-snake-handlers-death-preventable/?sr=fb021714snakehandlerdeath7p

Note of a video link from CNN where Jamie Coots is seen handling a large poisonous snake. Most probably, it might have been shot from a previous show prior to this last week's fateful accident.

Can one play with fire and not expect to get burned from time to time?

Farmer who finds a viper freezing in the snow. Taking pity on it

he picks it up and places it within his coat. The viper, revived by the

warmth, bites his rescuer who dies realizing that it is his own

    fault.

The story is recorded in both Greek and Latin sources.

The farmer dies reproaching himself "for pitying a scoundrel",

while the snake says that he bit his benefactor to teach the

lesson not to expect a reward from the wicked.

By the way, when God gave the command to multiply the

snake or serpent was very happy. He (snake) had mislead

the entire human race and still raising havoc.

    Good.

I encourage all who wish to handle snakes as a demonstration of their faith to do so as often as possible.

    Agree.

I hope West Burrow adopts snake handling.

Some cult members handle snakes and die, while some cult members refuse blood and die.
    AlphaMan

Chances of dieing from a snake bite is very high while Jehovah's Witnesses, after decades of achieving martydom, are now relaxing the ban as the above news report implies.
