I have been doing more studying on the subject and have found that it looks as though the bible OT. is a miss mash of information, stories, etc of stuff from other religions, including gods. It looks as though Yahweh started out as one of these sons of EL a mountains god and over time the priests of the Hebrews added to him many of the characteristics that were found to describe the other gods like EL himself, Baal and others. It may also be that the NT is also a mish mash of old testament stories reincarnated mixed with other religions like those of Mithra, Persian religions etc.
What got me started down this path was the thought that in the early bible accounts the god of abraham was called not yahweh but EL, El Shaddai, etc and these names came from a Canaanite city in North western Syria called Ugaritic. Google the name and you'll find the information amazing what was found there.
