What happened then . O Kaaay. I pushed the wrong button . Let me start again.

When I first posted on this site I was lurking for about a good year or two , before I got the courage to post. And I had been out of the religion for about 15 years , and I didnt realise even then, the hold it had on me. Dont underestimate the power of indoctrination and its hold on you .

Secondly , being apprehensive , I was suspicious /skeptical of some of the things posted on this site , the label that anything critical of the brothers,the organisation, the "TRUTH" was APOSTACY , must have been more ingrained in me, than I then realised. A couple of examples.

The first I ever heard of the WTB&TS being involved with the U.N. even just as an N.G.O.,I could not beleive it ,Thats bullshit that cant be true. Maybe the WTB&TS is correct about those who leave the "truth" I had to keep finding out.Gradually it emerged , it was not apostates who uncovered this information it was a journalist from the U.K.who disclosed it in his paper.What unfolded was the denial at first by WT , then the excuses for being an N.G.O. I had been a JW from 1960 , and the U.N.was portrayed as the counterfeit kingdom of God on earth , the abomination that causes desolation .And for them to be associated even in this capacity was at the least hypocritical , especially when they dfd freinds I had who were employed by religous organisations as a painter , and a sign writer who decorated shops with Xmas images.

Others are : And let me say,.... this may shock you .But do yourself a favour and INVESTIGATE what I am saying before you dismiss it ...And this can be a cop out for you , if you are not genuine about finding out the truth and facing up to it then dont go any further.You need to use the search button at the top of the screen.

Homosexuality /wife swapping at the H.Q.in brooklyn and elsewhere. Ref. a WT in the 1980`s ? ( I an not computer literarate )

Crimes committed by jehovahs Witnesses over the years , google it.

Sex crimes by Jehovahs witnesses google it .

And because Jehovahs Witnesses dont want to bring reproach on Jehovahs name they cover it up ,time and time again ,with no thought or compassion for the victim .

Have you ever heard of Candice Conti ? google her name.

I just hope you never let fear and intimidation prevent you from seeking out the truth , no matter where it leads you.

Face it and you will be a stronger person.

Comment on what ? OK so just an anecdote, I was talking

to a jw recently about the whole "faithful and discreet slave" doctrine.

I read the passage about the slaves, Matthew 25:21,22 Look at it.

There were TWO faithful slaves,both approved and both put in charge of

the Masters belongings, the slave that was given five talents and also the

slave that was given two talents, were both called faithful and discreet slaves,

So who does the WT imagine is the other faithful slave ? And why is this

never mentioned ? Or ? It does not mean what the WT says it means ?

It can't mean only eight men are the faithful slave class, because how do

they account for the other faithful, approved slave ? Where is he or she ?

Smiddy - OK now I see your post. You are right, there are many here who

were born in, but never really believed it was the "truth" Us converts who were

really convinced and completely into it, lock stock and barrel, have a painful exit

and it only comes from really being honest and really trying see the facts and get

out of denial which is like going through a sort of internal death of the self. Then

enlightenment and freedom and hope and rediscovery of life begin.

I was born in an even now I know I have a distorted view of morals and other things. I have to fight against the brainwashing I endured all my life.I am getting there but old habits die hard.

One thing I am good at is hate! Thank you watchtower® for putting all that vitriol in my mind.....I now use it against you watchtower®

Faithful Witness

I never even joined, and I still feel myself struggling to let go of their false teachings on some things. It wasn't until I was about 1/2 way through my intensive study of the book of Matthew, that I began to realize how much damage had been done to me... Not only my beliefs, but the way my mind works has been altered, if that makes sense.

I am still trying to hold onto my faith, but have suddenly hit another wall. It is very difficult to trust anything people tell me about the bible now.

The scandals and evidence against this ridiculous organization continue to pile higher and higher. I wonder at what point their system will finally collapse. The writing is ALL over the walls of the watchtower. More and more people are waking up and seeing it.

I would of defended to my death that this was Gods only religion he was working through! Why? Belief instilled in me from childhood, my mind molded to believe everything that was written through his Chanel of communication! The WBTS! Awake magazine, watchtower and all other books, and pamphlets produced by the faithful and Deseret slave...we're from Jehovah Himself!

You make a good point villagegirl its a classic example of the G.B.cherry picking what scriptures they build a doctrine on and what scriptures they ignore.

It can't mean only eight men are the faithful slave class, because how do

they account for the other faithful, approved slave ? Where is he or she ?

Maybe it was George Orwell and his inspired book 1984 , that was to be written in" the time of the end" LOL
