Yeah, I didn't want to go there, but I will put up a sign. I thought I might make one that says:
No Soliciting
Especially Jehovah's Witnesses:
why? JW facts.com
The police said to put it right above the doorbell. He said he has talked to others with the same problem, he knows they don't respect a no soliciting sign, but it's a start.
The guy had the territory card on him, he claimed it didn't say anything. And the woman said she had knocked at my door before.

LisaRose, I think you are going to have to be blunt, as you know they don't respect the no soliciting signs. They claim they are not soliciting. Vanderhoven7 has the right idea. I feel sorry for you. You see the witnesses once every 2, ,maybe 3 years around here. And I am rarely bothered.

The thing is, I thought I have been blunt, but I was, at the same time, polite. I wrote a long letter about why I left and I said I was an apostate, I sent it to the Kingdom Hall, I also gave it to a brother a few months ago. I didn't have any visits for a while, I thought it had worked. But this time I wasn't polite, I have been sick, I was in my robe. I only answered the door because I was expecting a delivery, I hadn't even combed my hair. I was irate and said I was an apostate and as far as I was concerned they were just spreading around lies, beside the fact that I have asked five times to be put on the do not call list (plus phone call and letter).
I also told them I would call the police, which I did. If I put up a no soliciting sign, I can call the police next time and they will come out. I was trying to avoid looking like a crazy person, but I can see I have been too subtle, but no more. I will put up a sign and I won't answer the door anymore.
It's just amazing how incompetent they are.

Vanderhoven, I think I will print out your sign and use that, I will put it by my doorbell. lt would be hard for a dub to miss that, the graphic will help.

LOL LisaRose. I have to laugh at your posts. First you hoped that Apostate will work, yet you get visit the next day. Maybe the power of the mind and subconsciousness.

Yeah, maybe they are irresistibly drawn to me, lol. I lived in Colorado for ten years, I had maybe two people come by in all that time. I know they work the territories here a lot, but still, this is ridiculous. Our neighborhood is popular with trick or treaters, we get like 600 kids. The houses are designed to look like vintage houses, either Craftsman, Victorian, or Italianate, with real front porches and detached, alley entrance garages and picket fences. I have a Victorian cottage, center hall design. Maybe they are checking out which one they will get after Armageddon, lol. They also hang out at the Home Depot and the only grocery store in town. You can't get away from them. I did a reverse witness to one of them, but I know it doesn't do any good, the cult mind control is too strong.
I will have to think about this and decide what to do. It's obvious they don't respect the do not call list, maybe the solution is to either not answer door, or conversely have a prepared statement and get in a brief reverse witness every time. Who knows, I mightactually unconvert someone.

In my 18 years in USA, I had a JW visit only once. I worked at night shift and slept through the day. I woke up at noon as someone knocking and ringing at the door. This person was persistent as there was only my car in front of the house and was determinated to woke me up. So, sleepy I opened the door and ha there JW with WT. I just started cursing. I told her: "Are you crazy? Do you know some people work 12 hours shift at night? I am sleeping and you woke me up! I have to be at work again in couple hours. How you would like me to go and bang on your door 3AM? So get lost! Dont ever do me this again!" And she certainly did not showed up again. I was really pissed, because it was in middle of the summer, sun was high and I was unable to get back to bed.

When I lived in a house they stopped by at least 6 times, all before 10AM on saturday. I just never answered the door. Such a lovely feeling being a home-but-hiding!
