The article talked about being puntual to bring honor to Jehovah, but I replace Jehovah w/ the governing body, they have in their own twisted mind that an organization of robots, always on time, etc, will validate that they are running God's people. Just like hiding molestations, it really has nothing to do with God's honor, it has to do with their own image. They claim they speak for God and all must obey them for salvation, so it's all for their own honor. Then when they see all the robots being punctual, they think people will say, Wow, the Governing Body is the promised faithful slave that we must obey!

And what if I simply wish to enjoy something? Such as zorbing? The sights of Mount Taupo? Or, I am going to Paris to see the Eiffel Tower? Or simply to see the sights around the Caribbean, such as the sunsets? But, no. Rather, I am supposed to waste my time in field circus. At that, under pressure of getting my time in while supposedly on vacation.
As for being on time, I think I generally do a pretty decent job of doing that at work as an apostate. Without having ro rush home so I can get ready for field circus so I can be there on time, too--meaning I do not have to leave work 30 minutes or more early so I can be on time for that. Or, having to rush to be home after work so I can attend the evening boasting session, which doesn't always end on time.

I think even most hardcore JWs have a hard time giving up vacation time to pioneer. Given that it is abundantly clear to most intelligent JWs that field service is a futile time waster, it's silly to expect people to give up a vacation to do it. That might have worked twenty or thirty years ago, when the field service was mire fruitful, but not today. It just shows how out of touch they are.

I'm really surprised that I can't recall there ever being a big organized push for teens to pioneer during summer vacation. This is an untapped resource of distribution for the society. Not that there seems to be many teens left in the congregations these days.

This is nothing new. They once had provision for pioneering during one's sleep. It was called Sleepwalk Pioneering. They discontinued it when lots of Witnesses reported that it was near impossible to tell a Sleepwalking Pioneer from an "ordinary" pioneer because they were both just as slow moving and bored in field sdrvice.

"Can You Auxiliary Pioneer During Your Vacation?
No. F*** off watchtower(R).
Discussion. Invite those who have auxiliary pioneered during their vacation from work to comment on the blessings they enjoyed.
Worn out physically. Worn out shoes. No one home. Was still told I wasn't doing enough when I got to the meetings(TM)
Encourage all to consider auxiliary pioneering during their next vacation."
Oh, yeah, what Brother Not-done-it-himself said.....

We had groups vacation pioneer since I was a teen. I was always encouraged to pioneer during school breaks. The young ones were definitely out in service more on breaks. In my last hall, a group of 10-12 would make quite the slides how up from their recent pioneer vacation. The gulf in our hall was rather big regarding finances. Looking back, there were quite a few who probably weren't uplifted by the clique that traveled well and boasted about their work for Jehovah.
I'm totally using DD's idea when I take a little staycation the end of this month :)
