    bchapp,

Remember one thing you don't have to explain your reasons. Just tell her you don't want to study any more. If she asks you why, just tell her you don't want to go into it, that you have made your decision. As Henry Ford the second used to say, "Don't complain and don't explain." (I knew that because I have a friend who used to work for him.) That approach keeps everything short and sweet.

oh sure larc, go the sensible route! You're no fun.

(However, larc has a point....when you do say to someone "I have made my decision" there's really nothing anyone can say to keep the ball rolling.)

Here is a good link to show her

This will also help make your decision easier!

Hey everybody, thanks! I decided the passive/aggressive approach.
The heck with confrontation, I have enough stress. I wrote this letter and posted it this morning. The "check is in the mail."

Upon further research into the the organization of Jehovah's Witnesses and the bible, I feel as though I have been misled.

    1. God has never worked through an "organization."
    2. Truth is truth, why would it need to be continously readjusted?
    3. False prophecy, how many people have been misled by WTS predictions
    4. Disfellowshipping & Shunning do indeed destroy families.
    5. Blood, would Jesus really want us to let our loved ones die, rather than receive proper medical treatment?
    6. The cover-up of molestation & abuse to protect the organizations image.
    7. More attention paid to the "Letter of the Law" (Scribes & Pharisees views) vs the "Spirit of the Law" (Jesus Christ's views) See John 8:3-11.

Therefore, I wish to discontinue my studies. Also I don't want to be "called on" again at my home or my place of work.

it hurts even more grievously those who dare to tell it." (Judge Ben Lindsey, 1869-1943)

KUDOS Bchapp....I would looooove to be a little bird watching her reaction.... Do you think this person would ever start independently thinking that something must be wrong with 'her' religion?

Double Edge, I hope so because she really seems like a nice person. But she's been in for so long, I don't think she'd know what else to do even if she does realize something's wrong.

I just received a response to my letter. I thought I'd relay part of it.

"I am surprised about the list of reasons for wanting to stop studying. I do recognize those objections, having heard them from apostates. Has someone been giving you false information?"

Hmmmmm, I wonder if I should respond?
