Costco for electronics, eyewear, and pharmacy. They might sell you a lifetime's supply of vitamins though.

In the UK, Poundland for all sorts. Iceland for frozen food, ready meals etc.... Loving Ebay & Amazon.

Good clothes at realistic prices, BonMarche, McKays and George at Asda.

    ALDI AND LIDL.

    Family Dollar for household essentials.

Wait for seasonal sales at ONE department store for clothing, shoes, jewelry, etc.

Farmer's market for fruits and veggies; Winn-Dixie for fish and meats.

I love KMart, outlet stores, Costco, and the local farmer's markets (tomorrow morning is the big one).

KMart is not crowded, and the stores and neat and clean. Time saver over Walmart. I love the KMart cash back savings. Many times they have 30 cents/gallon off coupons on the back of my store receipt.

Twice a year, Publix runs some really great coupons. $100 gas or Amex gift cards for $75. Usually, just before major holidays.

Mulch is super cheap at Lowes & Home Depot on long, holiday weekends. Get it for a buck a bag.

I buy alot of stuff off Amazon. But, I had to cut that off. I could spend too much money, all too easily.

    ....

    I have a test when I buy something. It's a "3 part test."

    1. Do I want it or need it?

    2. Can I afford it?

    3. Do I have something else that will work in its place?

Minimus costco's tires come with lifetime balance, rotation and flat repair.

I found that even if they are a bit more it is usually worth it in the cost of balacing a couple times.

Of course you have to wait for your car and will no doubt do some shopping while you wait. Evil geniuses!

It depends what I am buying. Sometimes I say that I cannot afford to buy a cheap cr.ap, so I rather spent money for something that last longer. For house and yard items, I go to Home Depot in USA. My favorite electronics is Best Buy. For good quality brand clothing and low price, I drive to Delaware for tax free shopping. Other items I go to Target. If I need good shoes, sports good, or crystal glassware, I go to Europe when I am visiting my family. The American shoes are not comfortable as the size are off. Americans have much longer and narrower feet than Europeans so it is always hard to find shoes that they do not hurt.

I never had shopped in Kmart or Walmart.

http://www.fatwallet.com is, hands, down, the best way to shop. If you want to save and aren't using fatwallet or similar, you're doing it wrong.

    - Firstly, the site lists a bunch of ridiculous deals constantly (it's an aggregate coupon site).

    - Secondly, if you sign up (which is just entering name, address, etc.), you can get cash back on almost any purchase you make. So, for instance, if you use amazon or orbitz or whatever, you click on the amazon link FROM Fatwallet, and get 2.5% cash back or whatever on every purchase, which gives you auto savings on top of whatever savings you're already getting from the mark down.

There's no reason not to shop without filtering through a cash back process. I've done ridiculous stuff like get good 40" 1080p televisions at 120 refresh rate for ~250 total with aggregate coupon sites, timing, and cash back.
