endless fulfillments like the supposed precursor: the cry of "peace and security" it happens all the time , whenever they say it. disaster follow: say crimea, syria, central africa.

in the meantime let the show roll on, money roll in, leader-worship flourish.

exWTslave - "The writer of this book clearly believed the End would come in 1st century AD itself!"

It takes real mental gymnastics to avoid that conclusion when you read it by itself.

'Course, that suggestion is unacceptable to any dyed-in-the-wool apocalyptic millennialist Christian...

...after all, if they were to follow that chain of reasoning to its logical denouement, they run the risk of concluding that because the End didn't come in the 1st Century, Christianity's entire legitimacy is therefore called into question.
