I dont see how this would get anyone to buy the product, but that goes for most commercials. I never much care for things meant to frighten people or make them look foolish. I wonder if it has ever been documented that a prank has given someone a heart attack? (As I write this, I am sitting here with my diet Pepsi)

I think it kinda goes along with the notion that nearly any publicity is good publicity. Keeps Pepsi prominent.

Well they haven't had a good Pepsi commercial since poor Brother Jackson's hair caught fire!

And you are correct, that may have been bad publicity, but all these years later we remember the mishap was during the filming of a PEPSI commercial!

I suppose advertisers want to be as outrageous as possible these days. Like met said, any publicity is good, afterall, Pepsi is being advertised right now on JWN because of this prank style ad. Kate xx

I thought it was great!
I loved the giant tentacle busting through the concrete and grabbing someone.
(And I always preferred the taste of Pepsi to Coca Cola anyway - on the rare occasion I drink fizzy beverages.)
