I was at my hall today they all looked as delusional as they always do. Something was bugging the PO though, maybe it was my goatee.

There's a big part of me that really wants to not only believe this but also shout a great big "Hurrah!" - yet - please be patient with me - another part that is skeptical. Some aspects seem a tad unbelievable. Do COs have their own homes? Some of his alleged behavior - if true - suggests he could be severely clinically depressed although up and leaving his wife and setting up his own place would suggest he has motivation and direction not often seen in severe depression. If he comes from a family of apostates, they could potentially help him but something doesn't quite add up. Rumor mills among the Witnesses are notoriously sensationalist and often wildly incorrect so it could wise to wait until the rumor dust settles. Again, I do not present this as a challenge - more a wondering and hoping it is correct. If correct, he is one person who could do with some healthy support.

AGREED with steve2. Parts of the story do not add up. The CO would not have a house to leave and go to an apartment. He would already be in an apartment. And COs are typically super organized and rational. He would not have a job right away, unless other "outs" are helping him.

CO's can still have their own homes ....these guys don't materialize out of thin air you know . Many have been JW's along time ,and now their kids are grown, and they go into CO work. A few of the CO's we had came from fairly wealthly backgrounds ,not all of them are only survivng on Society funds .They might rent their old home out or depending on circumstances just use it as a base. Years ago we had a CO that sold his primary home ,and bought a motor home to visit congregations with ,of course the Society finally put a kabosh on those kinds of arrangements .
Don't know if this account is accurate ,but it sounds plausible to me .

I've known of several COs and DOs who have owned their own home. One rented his house to a pioneer couple for a cheap price and another rented his out to a group of young men who pioneered and on the way to being ministerial servants or bethelites. Everyone thought it was the best thing since sliced bread.
I also knew a CO who had a full pension from a civil servant job before he was a dub.
